You can now set up your pet’s favorites to ship on a recurring schedule, making it easier to stay stocked on the foods, supplements, and essentials your pet needs most.

Subscriptions are currently available for select items, including raw, gently cooked, FirstMate kibble, supplements, and bulk chews — with more options coming soon.

Choose the schedule that works best for you, enjoy a subscription discount, and have your pet’s favorites delivered right to your door.

This is especially exciting because we are now shipping outside of California, making it easier for pet parents near and far to continue supporting our small business.

Summer is Here!

Find out why we are excited, what events we have planned, and enjoy the savings!

Summer brings longer days, more sunshine, beach trips, vacations, and extra time spent outside. While we love all the fun that comes with this season, it also means our pets may need a little extra support, comfort, and safety.

Whether your pet is tagging along for summer adventures or staying home while you travel, here are some ways to help keep them happy, hydrated, and safe.

Traveling Without Your Pet?

If your pet is staying with a sitter, friend, family member, or boarding facility, send them with something familiar from home. A favorite blanket, bed, toy, or even something that smells like their human can help them feel more comfortable while you’re away.

We also love giving pets something special to keep them busy. Enrichment toys like the Woof Pupsicle, lick mats, chews, or puzzles can help provide mental stimulation and support anxious pets when their routine changes.

Beach Day Safety

More beach trips mean a few extra safety steps. Make sure your dog doesn’t drink too much ocean water, and always bring fresh water with you. A travel bowl or water bottle with an attached bowl is perfect for beach days, hikes, walks, and car rides.

Also, don’t forget to check the pavement before walks. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws. Early morning or evening walks are usually safest on hot days.

Don’t Forget the Ears

Sand, water, and summer adventures can leave ears needing a little extra care. After beach trips or swimming, gently check and clean your dog’s ears.

Not all canned food is made the same — and FirstMate gives us a lot to talk about. 🐱

One of the reasons we love FirstMate wet food for cats is because it keeps things simple, moisture-rich, and meat-focused.

FirstMate’s meats are not precooked before canning. The ingredients go into the can, the can is sealed, and then the food is cooked once inside the can. We love this because it helps reduce unnecessary processing while keeping the food naturally flavorful and palatable.

Another thing we appreciate? Their canned foods are made without gums or artificial thickeners. That means the texture may look softer, looser, or have extra liquid — and that’s normal. Mix that liquid back in! It contains moisture and nutrients from the ingredients, which is especially helpful for cats.

Foster dog Brownie came by Pet Nutrition Center to do her official inspection, and while we’re still waiting on her final report, I think it’s safe to say… we passed. ❤️

Brownie walked in with high expectations: healthy diets, yummy snacks, species-appropriate chews, and amazing toys. This girl got all of that and then some.

She received extra love from our employees, special snacks from behind the counter, and plenty of time to sniff, explore, and enjoy the store.

We love this.

Take your foster dog on adventures. Give them new experiences. Let them build confidence in safe, positive environments.

And if you have a foster, nervous pup, or reactive dog who would benefit from a calmer shopping experience, call us to schedule a time outside of normal business hours for a personalized visit.
