In response to the growing number of families forced to choose between personal safety and the welfare of their beloved pets, we are fundraising to establish an anonymous boarding facility on California’s Central Coast. C.A.R.E.4Paws' Pet Refuge will provide a safe, free and confidential space for pets of Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County individuals and families navigating crises, such as escape from domestic violence, deportation and displacement due to fires and other disasters. There are going to be A LOT of services available for those that are unhoused or in need of a little extra help.

And the Ruger's Rescues team will be there with Barket supplies ready to help 50+ good boys and girls!

31 good boys and girls. 100 lbs of food. 2.5 hours.

We spent the morning today at ' Neil Good Day Center. The Day Center provides folks in need, and those experiencing homelessness, a safe place to go during the day where they can collect their mail, shower, watch TV, and rest for a little bit.

We come here once a month. It's never easy, but there's a significant need in this area.

This morning, we were able to help 31 good boys and girls!

We also handed out:

- 100 lbs of food
- 32 toys
- 25 bags of treats
- 11 bowls
- 5 beds
- 5 cooling mats and bandanas
- 5 leashes
- 4 harnesses
- 3 blankets
- 2 carriers
- 2 bags of litter
- 1 litter scoop

Another huge thank you to for food, .deli for harnesses and leashes, for the upcycled tennis balls, and a couple very special friends and family that provided all the beds and blankets for all 3 Barkets this weekend!

We’re on the lookout for a shelter (or two!) in Southern California to partner with us on field trips for shelter dogs—a chance to give a few pups a break from the chaos and kennel life while we help network them for adoption through our platform. 🐾

So far, we’ve:
✉️ Filled out the field trip application on Riverside Shelter’s website — no response yet
📞 Reached out to Irvine Animal Care Center — turned down
📬 Contacted San Clemente, Seal Beach ACC, OC Animal Shelter, Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach, Carson ACC, and Santa Ana — no replies back 😔

If you know anyone who works at a shelter or have a direct line of communication with staff, we would truly love to connect. This initiative could be life-changing for the dogs involved, and we’re ready to do the heavy lifting. 💪🏼🐶 Feel free to DM us or comment below with your suggestions!

Another big Barket day!

Yesterday afternoon, we helped 30 animals in need (22 dogs and 8 cats) at ! They prepped 300 home cooked meals for folks needing a little something extra.

We also handed out:

- 100 lbs of food
- 28 toys
- 25 bags of treats
- 7 beds
- 2 bowls
- 2 cooling mats
- 2 cooking bandanas
- 1 leash
- 1 collar

That means, that this past weekend alone, in just 2 days, we were able to feed nearly 70 animals and hand out almost 250 pounds of food!

This morning, we helped 39 animals in need!

What a huge Barket day at Neil Good Day Center in Downtown San Diego!

We were able to provide free food and supplies to nearly 40 pet owners who are unhoused, low income, or in emergency and transitional shelters. This allows them to keep their best friend with them and out of the shelter.

This is what we do! We specialize in prevention!

In addition to helping 39 best friends, we also handed out:

- 147 pounds of food
- 46 toys
- 41 bags of treats
- 24 bowls
- 15 beds
- 11 cooling bandanas and mats
- 7 collars
- 4 leashes
- 3 packages of puppy pads
- 2 harnesses
- 2 blankets

We additionally gave out numerous water bottles, a carrier, a scratching post, kitten milk replacement and a bottle feeder set to a very young yelly tabby boy named Garfield, towels, 2 containers of litter, 2 litter scoops, and a placemat!

PUP CUPS AND PITTIES this Saturday!

We partnered with the PAWESOME and our new furiend to make our famous pup cups at their adoption event at in Ramona! will also be there pouring tastings of their amazing coffee (seriously, Caroline is a coffee superhero)!

Come out, say hi, grab a pup cup and a glass of wine, and go meet some adorable babies that need a loving furever home!
