Twin Creek Griffons Our dogs are highly socialized members of the family.

Twin Creeks Good ‘Ol Gruff how blessed we were to spend the last 10 year with you ‘ol buddy.

Ashlynn came home from school yesterday and found our boy in bad shape. I rushed home and we got him to the vet but he passed in her lap, the exact same place he ran to the very moment we me met him , before they could even see him.

He and Ash were truly best friends, I think she loved him as much as she does me and I was always ok with that.

I’ll always hang onto the memories and the friendships made all because of this loyal companion. Gruff sired 80 griffs, 72 from our kennel that are scattered across 15 states that I know of, 8 from a breeder in Pennsylvania, and a bastard litter with the neighbors guard dog that didn’t stay on her side of the fence. 😝

I like to think he’s up there with my dad now chasing birds in fields of eternal sunshine where the season never ends.

Our boy was diagnosed with Cushings disease several months ago. We’ve been treating but his health has been on the decline but he’s still been in good spirits pretty active. Something happened overnight Saturday and he was down all day again this morning, and when I say down I mean I’ve picked him up and carried him outside and held him up to p*e. Ashlynn never left her best buddies side, skipped school today to be with him. I called the vet first thing this morning and we prepared ourselves for that dreaded one way trip to say goodbye.

Well the found an infection that caused a high fever, dehydration, etc, etc. The infection is not related to the disease however his weakened immune system makes him much more susceptible.

Long story short after getting some fluids at the vet, he’s back home, on some very strong antibiotics, has his head up for the first time since Saturday, and seems to be making a turn for the better.

From this day forward everyday with him will be considered a blessing.

My beautiful girl and most loyal ‘ol buddy had their pictures made the other day. Boy did they turn out good!

Good ‘ol Gruff, the patriarch of Twin Creek Griffons, is 10 years old today and he’s spending it being lazy with his favorite person.

Seems like just the other day we drove up to North Star Kennels in Kalamazoo, MI to pick him up. His breeder, Phil, had Ashlynn, her mom, and myself sit in the while he brought the two males we were we’re choosing up from his basement. He sat the both of the pups on the ground across the room from us. One took off in one direction and Gruff ran directly into Ashlynn’s lap and started licking her face. We didn’t have to make a choice that day because he made it for us!

Happy Birthday Gruff! We couldn’t have found a better dog.
