Heeley Performance Horses Joins Johnna Stables
We are thrilled to welcome Lexie Heeley of Heeley Performance Horses to Johnna Stables LLC, located in the scenic valley of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
Lexie brings a wealth of passion and experience to the team, and she is excited to be partnering with Donna Snyder while continuing to build her own unique identity in the industry.
“I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity. Donna and I share a vision that puts the horse and the customer first, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
Johnna Stables sits on over 120 acres, nestled along the Appalachian Trail. The facility features:
53 stalls in a heated barn with rubber flooring
Automatic lighting, water, and fans
A full security system with natural lighting and windows in every stall
A cozy observation room with fireplace
Two outdoor arenas, a 60x60 indoor round pen, an 80x140 indoor arena, a derby field, and 18 turnout fields
Guest quarters for out-of-town clients and 7 camper hook-ups
Lexie’s journey with Donna began in 2022 at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress. After spotting a standout black filly — short coupled, flawless in her jog, and elegant at the lope — her mother bought the mare on the spot.
“That filly had it all. Day in and day out, she showed up ready to be a cut above.”
In 2024, with modest plans to show the mare in Novice Horse classes, Lexie entered her — on a whim — in the Super Sires 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure. Her husband doubted the decision, noting the competition was stacked with Congress and World Champions.
“I showed him my back number — 1441 — and said, ‘Too late.’ My dad, who passed four years ago, used to race sprint cars. His numbers were 11 and 44.”
The next morning, while heading to the lunging pen, Lexie heard someone call out, “Hey, is that Raven?”
It was Donna Snyder, stalled just one aisle behind her. The two struck up a connection, bonded over Raven’s potential, and shared a vision for the mare’s future.
That October, Lexie and Raven won the Super Sires 3-Year-Old Limited Open Western Pleasure.
One year later, Donna made the call.
“I love what you’ve done with Raven,” she said. “I want you to make horses here, so I can get back in the pen again. Oh — and I heard you can do the Hunt Seat, too.”
Heeley Performance Horses specializes in Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle futurity horses, with a training program built around the well-being of the horse and the goals of the client.
Lexie also offers coaching and training for a select number of all-around riders in Showmanship, Horsemanship, and Equitation.
We’re excited for the future at Johnna Stables and what’s to come with Heeley Performance Horses. Give us a call to take a barn tour and meet Lexie.
