LONG POST ALERT!!
Introducing our Utensil litter out of Bambi & Ellis born on 7.5.26!
I know I'm about 3 weeks late but these last 3 weeks have been HARD as a breeder.
Bambi took in a litter of 4 Miniature American Shepherds to be their foster mom 3 weeks and 2 days ago. One of my other girls from my other breed ended up with Mastitis that resulted in her 4 puppies having to be removed from their mom.
Those who know Bambi, know that she is an outstanding mom, but asking her to take in a litter of puppies is a difficult thing. Well Bambi did it and has been the most amazing foster mom to those 4 puppies. While Bambi easily produced enough milk for 4 puppies, producing enough for 8 was a stretch. She tried her hardest, but she needed some help.
That's where I come in. These last 3 weeks I have been bottle feeding all 8 puppies to help supplement their food while also cleaning/pottying the 4 Miniature American Shepherds. Bambi must think it's odd that they don't have tails 😜. All while working my normal job. To say I'm tired is an understatement! This morning all 8 ate their first meal of puppy mush, which means the bottle can be officially put away until next time.
Along with their more professional photos I have included a few photos of their journey these last few weeks of being a litter of 8 with the most amazing mom/foster mom.
Thank you all for your patience these last weeks. I will get back to everyone that has called, emailed, fb messaged and texted.
*** For those wondering, the mom of the Miniature American Shepherd litter that Bambi is fostering is almost completely healed from her Mastitis! Her wound care was round the clock for about a week, but slowed down as her wound started to heal. **
