We didn't stay out long bc heat is just too much, maybe only 10mins at most and even then she and I were ready for some air conditioning.

It's just this was the first day off I've had where it wasn't raining, icy cold or there was something or another going on. I never walk any of my other furbabies (i.e. clients' loves) when its this hot. We go outside for potty time only and then spend rest of time indoors playing or cuddling. But, it's been so long since Ebber Rose and I've had park time.

I guess I wish I would've waited tho until next week-- on my next day off, bc it had taken 5 mins of water, air conditioning & some classical music for us both to relax. UG i miss our walks so much! Very grateful weather says this intense heat is almost over.

A new California law requires new multi-family housing developments financed by taxpayers to allow residents to have pets.

Specifically, any low-income housing built in the state with funding from the Department of Housing and Community Development or by giving developers tax credits must allow residents to share their homes with pets: https://bit.ly/3D9lRzf.

According to the California Senate analysis, “A lack of pet friendly housing options has put some pet owners in a position of choosing between keeping their household pet or keeping a roof over their head... This puts emotional strain on families, disproportionately low-income households, and burdens county shelters. A lack of pet friendly housing options is regularly cited as a reason that families relinquish their pet to local shelters.”

While the new law allows reasonable restrictions, such as the number of animals a resident may have, it does not allow landlords to ban breeds, limit the weight of pets (often used as a proxy for breed restrictions), or charge a “pet rent” or additional “pet security deposit.”
