Did you know that there is a Sea Bunny?? 😲🐇🤯
At first glance, it looks less like a sea creature and more like a tiny rabbit hopping across the ocean floor.
Meet the sea bunny, a small sea slug whose scientific name is *Jorunna parva*.
Its adorable appearance has made it an internet favorite, but those rabbit-like "ears" aren't ears at all.
They are specialized sensory organs called rhinophores, which help the sea bunny detect chemicals in the surrounding water and navigate its environment.
Its fluffy, fuzzy appearance comes from countless tiny structures covering its body, giving it the look of a miniature ball of fur despite living beneath the sea.
And that little feather-like tuft on its back?
Those are actually its gills, which it uses to breathe.
Despite measuring only a few centimeters in length, the sea bunny is a fascinating example of how strange and beautiful marine life can be. Found in waters throughout parts of the Indo-Pacific region, it spends its days crawling across reefs and rocky surfaces in search of food.
Tiny.Fluffy. And somehow looking more like a stuffed animal than a sea slug.
