I usually don't post babies this early but this little fighter deserves to be seen. He was born with a cleft lip. Luckily he does not have a cleft palate(opening on the roof of the mouth). He has taken a miracle ni**le from day 1 for me so I have been able to be his sole source of milk for now. He tries every day to latch on and nurse but his suction just isnt strong enough due to his lip being slightly abnormal. He has the will though and tries again and again. We are doing feedings every 2 hours around the clock and then he snuggles with his 2 Moms and siblings. He is gaining weight every day and getting stronger. He is fiery and it takes a bit to get him to calm himself to drink without aspirating but luckily I'm patient(with animals). I have my suction available each feeding in case he aspirates but so far, God has been rooting for this little dude. When he is about 10 weeks or so, we will get his lip repaired and then he will make one Lucky family very happy. He should be able to start eating wet food at around 4-5 weeks which will be amazing.
