Rafael is being a naughty boy today. He's growling and hissing more and stole the churu from me because I'm not squeezing the food out fast enough. What am I going to do with him. I can't weigh him to dose him for Gabapentin to get him to the vet. He needs a booster shot, de matting and a check up. I can gear up in full body armor, throw a towel over him and force him into a carrier but the vet won't even examine him if he's hostile....so what's a girl to do? HELP.

**Goldie update** She's still fiesty and beautiful. It was a very long day and I just got her to sleep after icing her incision and giving her very strong pain meds. She did great with anesthesia and had no complications. They did have to amputate her entire leg up to the hip joint due to atrophy(wasting away) of the muscle and unhealthy tissue. When she woke up, she started be-bopping around immediately and they had to put her in a smaller carrier to keep her safe. She's walking around just fine but needs to be kept in an enclosure for 2 weeks until the external sutures are removed. Her incision is large in comparison with her little body. She hated the hard plastic cone so I got her a soft cone and she was pleased. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I will update again tomorrow.

Goldie just got dropped off for surgery. I'm not ok. She got lots of kisses and prayers and she has Oliver's good luck lambchop stuffed animal that got him through FIP. I know my girl will be OK. Keep praying please. πŸ™

My Goldie girl needs to have the rest of her leg amputated first thing tomorrow morning. I'm scared to death. Can you all take a moment to say a prayer for my sweet girl. Goldie is only 2.3 pounds and just a baby. Her paw was amputated spontaneously at a week old but last night she cried when I picked her up and I discovered that her stump didn't look the same. I gave her pain meds to sleep and got her checked at 8am this morning. The vet confirmed that the bone was popping through and the tip was starting to die off from her using the stump like a crutch. The options were to amputate asap to prevent necrosis and possibly sepsis resulting in death or to start potent antibiotics and give it time. As a nurse, I know how quickly sepsis can set in and I refused to wait. We started her on strong antibiotics this morning along with pain meds around the clock and are amputating in the AM. She's little and will heal quickly but without removing the leg, she could get sepsis and die. She's my little piranha girl who loves to bite fingers. I need her energy in my life. Please send us all of the good, healing vibes. πŸ™

Our echocardiograms are finished and we are heading home. Long ride...long day. Remember that responsible breeding is a full time job. I started my morning at the vet at 8am with one of my rescues who needs a full leg amputation tomorrow AM then drove 90 min to the echo clinic. Monday isn't my favorite day but we made it through. Clear echos for all 6 kittens. 🫢
