Meet Lil Bach, the pup over flowing with happiness!

At 4 months old and already tipping the scales at 30 pounds, Lil Bach is growing into a big and handsome boy. We suspect he may have some Lab and Golden Retriever in his family tree, but that’s just an educated guess. What isn’t a guess is that he’s one incredibly lovable puppy with a personality as big as his paws!

This boy approaches life with enthusiasm. Toys? Amazing! Other dogs? Amazing! Kids? Amazing! New people? Also amazing! If there’s fun to be had, Lil Bach wants to be part of it. He loves playing chase with children, romping around with canine friends, and tagging along on outings where he can investigate every interesting thing. He can occasionally be the annoying little brother during playtime with other dogs, but his good intentions and goofy charm usually win everyone over. He has also had good interactions with cats!

Lil Bach is also quite the social butterfly. He enjoys meeting new people and is always ready to make a new friend wherever he goes. His cheerful attitude and friendly nature make him the kind of dog who turns ordinary errands into opportunities for adventure.

The only thing Lil Bach isn’t particularly enthusiastic about? Long walks. He’ll happily stroll along and is surprisingly good on leash for a young puppy. But once he’s done, he’ll simply plop down and stage a peaceful protest until he gets lots of pets.

Like any puppy, Lil Bach is still learning the ropes. Growing up in a shelter, even one where he’s overly spoiled, isn’t the same as growing up in a home. He’s still working on potty training and can be a little mouthy or jumpy when excitement takes over. With patience, consistency, and positive guidance, he’s going to make a wonderful companion.

If you’re looking for a puppy who greets life with a wagging tail, a happy heart, and an endless sense of adventure, Lil Bach is ready to meet you. Just be prepared to fall in love. He has that effect on people! 🐾🐾💜

Meet Breezy, a gentle soul with endless love to give!

Some dogs make a lasting impression the moment you meet them, and Breezy is one of those dogs. At 5 years old and 37 pounds, she has the sweetest, most loving nature and a way of quietly working her way into your heart.

Breezy’s greatest joy in life is simply being around people, kids included! The second you sit down, she’ll happily climb into your lap, lean in for affection, and shower you with kisses. Her gentle presence brings a sense of comfort and warmth that makes every day feel a little brighter.

She’s also an incredibly well mannered girl! Breezy is very potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and rides calmly in the car. Whether she’s snuggled beside you on the couch, joining you on a walk, or riding along on errands, Breezy is just happy to share life’s little moments with the people she loves. While she's generally a laid back companion, she still has playful moments and loves tossing toys around when the mood strikes. She’s the kind of dog who settles into your routine effortlessly and quickly becomes an irreplaceable part of the family.

Breezy has done well with calm cats and generally prefers to give them their space. She also gets along nicely with smaller dogs. Large dogs make her uncomfortable, so she would thrive in a home without big canine companions.

Breezy has so much affection to give and is ready to be someone’s loyal companion, cuddle buddy, and best friend. 🐾🐾💜

Meet Bellarina, the Social Butterfly with a Heart Full of Love! 💕

If Bellarina has one goal in life, it’s to be wherever her people are. This cheerful 9 years old, 27 pound girl loves companionship and wants to be included in everything. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or spending time in the yard, Bellarina is happiest right by your side.

She adores people and greets everyone she meets like an old friend, kids included! Affection is one of her favorite things in life. If she feels she’s gone too long without pets, she’ll put on a hilarious show of sliding, flopping, and rolling her way over until someone gives in and rubs her belly.

Bellarina was originally adopted as a puppy in 2017 and returned to us this April due to a change in her adopter’s situation. We were told she had spent her life as a strictly outside dog, but Bellarina seems to have missed that memo. She’s settled into indoor life with ease. She’s potty trained, loves couch naps, and makes herself right at home.

When Bellarina returned to us, she arrived in a feral cat trap with sores covering her face and swollen eyes. It was a heartbreaking sight, especially after meeting the dog inside.

The moment we opened that trap, Bellarina greeted us with a wagging tail and a wiggly little body. Beneath her rough appearance was a loving and social girl who simply wanted to be near people. Her face has healed beautifully, and every day she reminds us that her joyful spirit and loving heart were never broken!

She rides well in the car, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys the company of smaller sized dogs. She’ll even break into playful zoomies around the yard with her canine friends when the mood strikes.

After spending years on the outside looking in, Bellarina is ready to be someone’s cherished companion. She’s ready for belly rubs, couch cuddles, and a family that includes her in all of life’s little moments. 🐾🐾💜

Some dogs leave a paw print on your heart, and Pablo certainly did that here at the shelter.

This spunky little Chihuahua spent four months with us, winning over everyone he met with his larger than life personality, endless charm, and spunky attitude. When Pablo was finally adopted, we were thrilled for him. Unfortunately, just three months later, he found himself back at the shelter when his adopter became seriously ill due to an unexpected health condition.

Thankfully, Pablo didn’t have to wait long for his second chance.

When Prime Metal Buildings & Components generously donated much needed materials to our shelter, one of their employees met Pablo and instantly fell in love! Before long, Pablo was heading home once again, and this time he hit the jackpot!

Today, Pablo is living his very best life. He’s spoiled, adored, and loving every minute of it. We couldn’t be happier to see this little guy exactly where he belongs.

Thank you to Prime Metal Buildings for supporting our shelter and for giving Pablo the wonderful life he deserves. Stories like his remind us that sometimes the right family comes along exactly when they’re needed most. 🐾🐾💜

Meet FooFoo, the professional lap warmer!

At 4 years old and 10 pounds, FooFoo has perfected the art of being à la cat. The second you sit down, she is already climbing into your lap, meowing for attention and soaking up every pet she can get. She is the kind of cat who always wants to be close, happily curling up in just the right spot for a cozy nap.

FooFoo has a gentle, loving personality and thrives on affection. She enjoys batting around crinkly toys, chasing wand toys across the room, watching the world outside the window, and faithfully following you around the house while waiting for treat time. While she currently lives in a foster home with other cats and dogs and coexists well with them, she is much more interested in spending time with her people than playing with the other pets.

FooFoo was adopted as a kitten and deeply loved for several years. Sadly, her adopter became ill and could no longer care for her, which is how she found her way back into rescue. Shortly after coming into our care, FooFoo underwent a dental procedure that required most of her teeth to be removed due to a medical condition. Thankfully, she healed beautifully and has not let it slow her down one bit. Honestly, you would never even know she only has a few teeth left!

What FooFoo wants most is simple: a soft lap, a loving home, and someone who will cherish her the way she deserves. In return, she will happily spend her days keeping you company and reminding you that you are never alone. 🐾🐾💜

Last week’s Bid for the Paws event was an incredible success!

We are so grateful to everyone who attended, bid, donated, volunteered, and supported CLASS. Because of this amazing community, the event was a huge success and will make a meaningful difference for the animals in our care.

We want to extend an especially heartfelt thank you to Devine Wine Bar for not only hosting our event, but also generously donating auction items and creating such a welcoming and beautiful atmosphere for the evening. Your kindness, generosity, and support of our mission mean more than words can say, and we are truly thankful for everything you did to help make Bid for the Paws such a memorable success.

We would also like to give a huge thank you to auctioneer Jake Addams for donating his time, energy, and talent to make the live auction such a fun and exciting part of the night.

Thank you to the 3rd graders in Mrs. Huinker’s class at Mountain Valley Elementary for helping our shelter animals put their best paw forward!

The students wrote adoption bios and drew pictures for our adoptable pets to help them stand out and get noticed. They did such a wonderful job capturing the animals’ personalities and making each one feel special. Their artwork hanging around the shelter has brought so many smiles to everyone who visits.

Most of all, these students hope their hard work helps our shelter pets find loving homes. We are so grateful to Mrs. Huinker and her class for sharing their creativity, kindness, and big hearts with our animals! 🎨✏️🐾🐾
