SDD5K Family - a local Cherokee County resident has started a petition to create a space at Etowah River Park (where we host our annual 5k event) for a Rainbow Bridge to honor loved dogs who are no longer with us.

The idea of a Rainbow Bridge mirrors the symbolism of a dog entering heaven and allows a space to display a pets collar or other item for reflection and communial support.

Join us for the inaugural Ruck event with our partner, Pup & Ruck on Monday, 9/1 at Etowah River Park!

Benefitting the K9s United group for the Fallen K9 Memorial, with support from GORUCK we are kicking off our NEW local rucking group here in Canton, GA!

Anyone (pups included) of any athletic ability is welcome to join! Grab your weight vest, ruck sack or just yourself and come meet up for a great time and even better cause!! 🐾 🎒

This is one of the reasons why the Street Dog Dash 5K exists. 🐾

Every June, the Yulin Dog Meat Festival takes place in China—where thousands of dogs are crammed into cages, transported in inhumane conditions, and ultimately slaughtered for meat. Many are stolen pets or street dogs. This isn’t just a “festival” it’s a heartbreaking reality for animals who feel fear, pain, and love just like ours do.

We’re not sharing this to shock or condemn a culture. We’re sharing to raise awareness and stand up for the voiceless. This cause is global, and compassion knows no borders.

Street Dog Dash 5K raises funds to support trusted rescue partners working both locally and internationally to stop cruelty, promote adoption, and protect dogs everywhere.

If you’ve ever loved a dog, this is your cause too. 💛🐶

Reaching out to see if anyone is available to foster these sweet babies! They are an owner surrender to Polk County and Semper Fi Legacy Rescue has been called on to assist. Through fostering, all supplies are provided to you - all they ask is that you open your heart and home for a few weeks to help these babies get adopted!

Please let us know if you or someone is able to foster, it is absolutely the most rewarding experience! 🐾 💜 🏡

Stop by PetSmart in Canton today to see all dogs available for adoption via Semper Fi Legacy Rescue! They are in desperate need of fosters. Fostering cost you absolutely nothing and it is the most rewarding experience to open your heart and home to a dog in need until they find their forever home!
