A good rooster is absolutely invaluable!
Roosters are not the enemy. They protect those under their care. They will sacrifice themselves to save the flock. He doesn’t back down, not one step, even if it cost his life. He has a family to protect and he’ll sacrifice everything for them. It’s the embodiment of “My life before theirs” ❤️🧑🌾
This remarkable photo was made by Shasta Schlitt - BYC (BackYardChickens) of her rooster, Jay, defending a hen against an unlucky hawk. Unfortunately, the hawk didn't survive the attack. Jay had some puncture wounds but is OK.
