At just 7 months old, Leroy James should be chasing tennis balls, running and living his very best puppy life.
Instead, this sweet Labradoodle found himself in the fight of his life after swallowing a very large rock that his tiny body simply couldn’t pass. Over the course of a week, Leroy lost 12 pounds and became sicker by the day.
His family loved him deeply and had taken wonderful care of him. When faced with the cost of emergency surgery they simply couldn’t afford, they made the heartbreaking and selfless decision to surrender Leroy so he could get the lifesaving care he needed. That decision came from love, the kind that puts a dog’s life above your own heartbreak.
We received a call from our trusted veterinary partner who was caring for Leroy. They believed in us. They believed in this community. And they knew that together, we could give this boy a second chance. We are so grateful for their compassion, their quick action, and the incredible care they provided.
