CANTON DOG PARK UPDATE AS OF DECEMBER 5TH:
Thank you to all the Canton Dog Park members for your patience and understanding while we finalize the portions of the park renovations that we were able to complete before wintry weather conditions set in. During the closure, the turf in high traffic areas was reseeded. Unfortunately, the early weather window has now closed, and cement sections were not able to be installed as planned. Stones are currently being placed at the entrances that will serve as a temporary mud mat until the pavement work can be completed in the spring. This stone installation is expected to be finished early next week. Members should also be aware that the memorial donation pavers have been temporarily relocated and will be incorporated into the new cement layout design. In addition, sections of ground near the pavilions were disturbed as part of the prep work that will also be addressed in the spring. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this closure may have caused but look forward to these significant improvements in the future. Members can expect the park to re-open on Wednesday, December 10, barring any unforeseen circumstances. For more information, please contact the Canton Parks office at 734/394-5310.

CANTON DOG PARK CONSTRUCTION UPDATE AS OF NOVEMBER 24TH: Thank you for your patience as site work continues at the Canton Dog Park. Currently, the dog park remains closed due to electrical gate and concrete work, which is anticipated to be poured in the next week. Once the concrete has been poured, we will be better able to determine the dog park’s re-opening date. In the meantime, for the safety of all members and their pets while the site continues into its final stretch of concrete placement, we ask that members remain out of the park. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THIS AREA, AS IT IS OFF LIMITS AS AN ACTIVE CONSTRUCTION ZONE. Thank you for your patience as we work to make the dog park more enjoyable for everyone! Stay tuned for updates that will be posted here as they become available. For additional information, contact the Canton Parks Office at 734/394-5310.

ATTENTION CANTON DOG PARK MEMBERS: Please be advised that the Canton Dog Park will be closed beginning Monday, November 10, for approximately 2 weeks to allow for the construction of planned improvements to the site. These renovations will include the installation of concrete slabs to replace the gravel areas located at dog park gate entrance, as well as foundational work for shade structures. In addition, Canton Parks staff will also take this opportunity to reseed high traffic areas. Due to the hazards of heavy machinery and construction site debris, the park will be closed and unusable for the duration of the renovation. Since this construction project is weather dependent, a reopening date will be announced at a later time. Watch for project updates as they become available online at www.cantonmi.gov/151 and on Facebook . Thank you for your patience as we implement these upgrades to improve everyone’s experience at the Canton Dog Park. For additional information, contact the Canton Parks Office at 734/394-5310.
