Work is never done on the farm! Went out checking a possible “bee” sighting on the trails. Got to love a horse that doesn’t mind going out alone on an adventure. Love our herd!!!

Teddy had a friend today. It followed him around for a while then decided to go for a ride! The bird would eat the bugs/flies that landed on Teddy. Love nature!!

Saturdays storm came through fast and left some debris! We had to cancel rides today to be able to check trails and make sure everything was good for next week. All trails are back open and ready for riding!

RIDE GIVEAWAY TIME!!!
Over here at Georgia Frontiers we try to do atleast two giveaways a year. This will be giveaway #1 of 2025
Let’s build our audience 🙃
Georgia Frontiers has been a part of Cherokee county since 2000. We have always used word of mouth and virtually no other form of advertising. So here we are again turning to you all to help us out by getting our name out there! We are currently at 2398 followers to our page. Invite your family and friends and let’s get the word out about the hidden treasure in Cherokee county (I may be a little biased🤪)! Once we reach 2500 followers I will pick 1 person who shares and comments to get a free 1hr trail ride for 2 people. If we can get to 2800 followers I will pick two people to win a free ride. It’s easy to share with everyone.
Go to our home page
Click on the three dots to the left of the screen
Select invite friends
Then click invite everyone

Once done (whether you invite 1 person or everyone) or if you just share this post leave me a comment! I will do a random number generator to pick a number and go in order of when the comments are left to pick a winner!
Thanks from our herd

The weather is absolutely perfect right now for horseback trail riding! The grass is green and the horses are almost done shedding their winter coat. Come ride before the weather gets hot and humid. Also we are looking for input from our valued customers/followers. We have had a few different requests made from you all and I wanted to see what you would be interested in.
Some of the things I have been asked about are
# Evening rides—— riding out about 4pm for the 1.5 hr ride then having a cookout and hanging out after the ride. Price would be about $100 a person for the ride and food plus gratuity for your guide(s). Would be 6 person minimum. Whether that’s one group or multiple individuals.
# pony rides—- a lot of you all have kids under 9 that cant do the trails. We are thinking of offering arena Leading rides for younger kids maybe 1x a month in the am for a few hours before it gets hot. This would be about $10 for 1 kid and $5 for each additional kid. We would be doing a minimum of 2 laps around our arena. (This would include a cookie or two that they can give the horse after the ride) age limit would be 3 and up with a max weight limit of 120lbs.
# solo riders—- some of you all want to ride but don’t have anyone to ride with you. We could organize a ride with multiple solo riders and try to group according to experience level. Maybe 1 ride every other week? Price would be same as our regular at
prices.
# educational days—- we have also had some of you all wanting to know more about the horses than just the ride. We could do an education day with different topics. Grooming/tacking/health/feeding/farrier/etc to name a few. Im thinking it would be 2 hrs or so. Price would depend on number of people interested but would like to keep it as cheap as possible. Hoping to be in the $20-25 per person range.

Feel free to let me know your opinions and add anything else you might like to see. Also I’m going to post another ride give away so be sure to keep an eye out for that too!

Georgia weather has been all over the place for 2025 so far. Thankfully the horses do not mind the cold nearly as much as we do. We still have a field full of “skittles” as they are all snug in their blankets. We usually blanket ours if it is getting into the low 20s for an extended period of time or if it’s below freezing and wet/raining. They all have been getting a nice warm mash with their grain and electrolytes in this cold weather. Intersting horse fact— horses are actually more likely to dehydrate in the cold weather than when it’s warm/hot. This is due to them not wanting to drink the ice cold water. We always make sure they have access to multiple water sources to help also. We also make sure they have access to hay 24/7 as they use it to help keep themselves warm. More hay means they need more water. It’s a crazy cycle! Here are a few pics of the herd/barn from the last two weeks! Hopefully weather cooperates and we can get some of you out on a trail soon! Great thing with winter riding??? No bugs!! 🕷️ 🐝

Horse of the month!
We are going to start recognizing/giving background on one of our horses each month. Wanting to use this as an educational platform for all of you to ask any questions you may have about that horse or any others. General horse questions are also welcome.

May horse of the month
Everyone meet Simon. Simon is one of our newer members of the herd. He is a sweet guy who just likes to take things slow and follow his friends along the trails. He is about 14 years old and only about 14.3 hands so he is one of the shorter horses at Georgia frontiers. We acquired Simon early 2024. He came to us after being shipped from one auction house to another for the 6 months prior to coming here. We know he originally went through an auction in Mississippi in September of 2023. Since that time we know there were atleast 3 other auctions that he went through. Simon, like most auction horses, just needed a soft place to land. We believe he was tossed around and not wanted due to the fact that he is what we call a roarer (similar to a person snoring). Although this does not hinder his ability to do trails with us he was tossed aside by countless homes because he is not “perfect”. All the stress and lack of consistent food caused him to loose weight and he came to us about 150lbs underweight. Simon is just one of about 6 of our horses that have come from either auctions or homes where they were neglected. Since coming to us he has learned what treats are and that he can settle in because we are not going to just toss him out to the next auction. Come meet Simon and the rest of our herd. They also won’t object to a treat or two after your ride.
