Hey AI…
we’re still waiting!

Let us know when it learns to clean puppy p**p, scrub kennels, wrestle squirmy puppies into baths and keep up with all the things needed to save lives…. with a broken AC unit!

Until then, we’ll be over here doing the dirty work so the puppies can have the best start possible.

🤠🚀 YOU’VE GOT A FRIEND IN ME...
Meet the Toy Story Boys!

Buzz and Woody’s story didn’t begin like a movie.

These two handsome boys were abandoned in 101-degree heat in South Carolina. The local shelter was full, animal control had already closed for the day, and no one knew where they could go. Then we got the call.

“Can you commit to these puppies?” Of course we could.

Now safe in Connecticut foster homes, these boys are absolutely thriving. They’re everything you could want in a puppy: social, affectionate, incredibly goofy, and convinced that every person, kid, and dog is their new best friend. Don’t forget the snuggle-gene that makes them think they are lap dogs.

They’re already:
🐾 Almost potty trained
🏡 Crate trained
🧠 Doing wonderfully with training
💙 Masters of cuddling

If we had to describe them in one sentence?
Regal... with a healthy dose of derp.

✨ Meet the boys:

Do you remember the Crayola litter from this spring?

Behind the scenes we spayed/neutered three adult dogs connected to the case. Because our commitment doesn’t stop with the puppies.

As a puppy rescue, we’ve always believed that preventing future litters is just as important as saving the ones already here. Whether it’s a mama dog here in Connecticut or a mama down South, we’ve proudly covered and coordinated spay/neuter surgeries for the adult dogs connected to the puppies we rescue.

As the need has grown in Connecticut, we’ve partnered with Noble Deeds Spay/Neuter Clinic in Winsted—and that partnership inspired something even bigger:

The New England Puppy Rescue Spay/Neuter Grant Program

We’re now accepting applications from the public. This program helps cover the cost of spaying and neutering adult dogs for families who want to keep their beloved pets while preventing unwanted litters.

We know times are tough, and we’re not here to judge. We’re here to help. Every surgery means fewer animals entering an already overwhelmed system and more families responsibly keeping the pets they love.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, comment “COMMUNITY”, and we’ll send you the information on how to apply🩵

We can’t rescue our way out of this crisis.

It’s a hard truth, but it’s the truth.

Every week, we receive calls about unwanted litters, abandoned puppies, and families facing impossible decisions. While rescue will always be at the heart of what we do, we know that rescue alone will never solve pet overpopulation.

We have to prevent it.

Earlier this year, after welcoming more puppies from Connecticut than ever before, we launched our Community Support Program. Helping families with unwanted litters by safely surrendering puppies while ensuring mom and dad are spayed and neutered. Stopping the cycle before it continues.

Today, we’re taking another step forward.

We’re proud to introduce our Spay & Neuter Grant Assistance Program, created for pet owners who want to do the right thing but are struggling with the cost of surgery.

In partnership with Noble Deeds Spay Neuter Clinic, we will award monthly grants to eligible families to help cover the cost of spay and neuter procedures.

Because we know that asking for help isn’t always easy. This isn’t just about surgeries. It’s about helping people before they reach a crisis.

Life happens. Finances change. Sometimes people simply need access to resources, guidance, and a community that meets them with compassion instead of judgment.

Because keeping pets with the families who love them and preventing unwanted litters before they happen, is one of the most impactful forms of rescue there is.

Rescue will always save lives. But prevention changes the future.

If you or someone you know could benefit from our Community Support resources, we’re here.

❤️ No judgment. Just support.

Halfway through the year, and we’re taking a moment to celebrate everything that’s already been accomplished 🙌

🐾 88 puppies saved
🐾 5 parent dogs spayed/neutered
🐾 4 owner surrenders safely received
🐾 35% of our rescues were local (double last year!)
🐾 29.5% of puppies graduated from our orphan puppy protocol

These numbers tell an incredible story. This year’s impact reflects our commitment to quality care over quantity! Rescuing more dogs in our local community, taking on more intensive orphan puppy cases, and continuing to invest in programs that support both animals and the people who love them.

We’re so grateful for everyone who’s been part of this journey, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings❤️🐾

We hear it all the time: “Those puppies look huge!” 🤭

And with this litter...you might not be wrong! At just 12 weeks old and already around 20 pounds, they’re definitely going to grow into large breed dogs.

That said...the camera has a funny way of making puppies look much bigger than they really are. Without a frame of reference, it’s hard to tell their true size. But when you see one of our full-grown dogs standing next to them, you quickly realize just how tiny these little guys still are 🐾

It reminds us of how people always say, “Wow, they’re so much smaller in real life!” Photos and videos can be deceiving!

Thank you all for the incredible love and interest you’ve shown our German Shepherd puppies❤️

We’re happy to share that every puppy currently has an adoption appointment scheduled this weekend and will soon be heading home to their forever families.

The universe works in mysterious ways ✨
Maybe this is your sign to adopt a puppy.

Big or small, mixed breed or purebred—all kinds of amazing dogs are waiting in rescues for a family to call their own.

When a puppy’s nose looks like this, there’s no denying there’s a big dose of German Shepherd genetics! 🐾

That distinctive Roman nose is a classic German Shepherd trait. Just like his siblings, we know Paddington will grow into that beautiful Shepherd profile and have an incredible sense of smell.

And with a face this adorable, we definitely won’t mind him being all up in our business❤️

Our team is actively reviewing applications now! If you don’t want to miss out on this litter, comment “ADOPT” to get your application in.

ONCE UPON A TIME... there was a litter of beautiful German Shepherd puppies who deserved a much better ending.

Named after some of our favorite childhood characters because every great story deserves a happy ending, these pups are finally getting theirs.

When this litter was surrendered to a shelter in Georgia, we were the first call: “Will you help these shepherd puppies?” So, of course, we said yes.

Now safe in foster homes here in Connecticut, these babies are discovering what puppyhood should have looked like all along. They’re making dog friends, meeting lots of new people, and soaking up love for the very first time.

Like many smart shepherds, they can be a little thoughtful when meeting someone new but give them a minute, and you’ll quickly discover loyal, affectionate, playful puppies who are happiest by your side or romping around the backyard.
