Announcement about the unidentified canine upper respiratory virs breaking out in the US:
As you may have heard, this is likely similar to the outbreak last year, and in the early stages this illness may appear as kennel cough or canine influenza.
At this time, cases have been seen in Georgia and surrounding states. We are also aware of the impact that holiday events and travel could have on exposure rates.
As always, your pup's safety is our primary concern, so we are taking steps to ensure that our groom room is cleaned thoroughly with extra kennelsol and bleach.
πΎ If you notice any upper respiratory symptoms (coughing, sneezing, eye discharge or nasal discharge) from any dogs in your household, please notify us and DO NOT come to your appointment.
πΎ We will be following AVMA's vaccine recommendations.
At this time we do not require a canine influenza vaccine, but please be aware that our vaccine requirements may evolve as we learn more about this extreme new illness.
We will follow this situation closely, update our policies as needed, and keep you informed! πΆβ₯οΈ
