**QK Dogs Graduation Day: New England Spring Edition** 🌧️🌬️🐾
This past Saturday, QK Dogs held our go-home graduation course for our latest group of training dogs and their families.
And because it was late May in New England, naturally we were gifted with a charming little weather sampler platter: **40-degree temperatures, rain, hail, wind, trees down, and a power outage.**
You know. Just a relaxing spring day.
But dogs do not learn only when the sun is shining. Owners do not need leadership only when life is convenient. And real training is proven when the world gets a little messy.
For eight full hours, we worked indoors and outdoors, teaching owners the foundational skills their dogs have been developing throughout training: leash handling, place work, patience, recall, impulse control, off-leash understanding, structure, and communication. Our companion dogs completed their obedience go-home sessions, and then we moved right into field work with our gun dogs.
Rain coats. High winds. Wet dogs. Cold hands. Big smiles.
It was a tremendous success.
I am especially proud of our wonderful QK trainer, Sydney Emery. Together we lead this graduation class with precision, professionalism, passion, and expertise. Sydney has poured herself into these dogs, and it showed. She handled the day with calm confidence, excellent instruction, and the kind of quiet competence that makes a trainer truly valuable.
These graduation days matter. They are not just about showing what a dog has learned. They are about teaching the human family how to step into leadership, how to communicate clearly, and how to carry the training home with consistency and confidence.
To our graduating dogs and families: congratulations. You showed up, stayed committed, and worked through a day that could have easily become an excuse. Instead, it became part of the lesson.
Because at QK Dogs, we believe trained dogs live better lives — even when New England decides to throw hail at the final exam.
Well done, everyone. 🐾
