Jennifer has said it herself: even though QK is widely known for sporting dogs, the work here extends far beyond the field. She has trained puppies, family dogs, and complex behavior cases across every breed and size for over 25 years. The foundational skills that allow dogs to live harmoniously in human homes are universal, regardless of breed. That is what every dog gets at QK.

**QK Dogs Graduation Day: New England Spring Edition** 🌧️🌬️🐾

This past Saturday, QK Dogs held our go-home graduation course for our latest group of training dogs and their families.

And because it was late May in New England, naturally we were gifted with a charming little weather sampler platter: **40-degree temperatures, rain, hail, wind, trees down, and a power outage.**

You know. Just a relaxing spring day.

But dogs do not learn only when the sun is shining. Owners do not need leadership only when life is convenient. And real training is proven when the world gets a little messy.

For eight full hours, we worked indoors and outdoors, teaching owners the foundational skills their dogs have been developing throughout training: leash handling, place work, patience, recall, impulse control, off-leash understanding, structure, and communication. Our companion dogs completed their obedience go-home sessions, and then we moved right into field work with our gun dogs.

Rain coats. High winds. Wet dogs. Cold hands. Big smiles.

It was a tremendous success.

I am especially proud of our wonderful QK trainer, Sydney Emery. Together we lead this graduation class with precision, professionalism, passion, and expertise. Sydney has poured herself into these dogs, and it showed. She handled the day with calm confidence, excellent instruction, and the kind of quiet competence that makes a trainer truly valuable.

These graduation days matter. They are not just about showing what a dog has learned. They are about teaching the human family how to step into leadership, how to communicate clearly, and how to carry the training home with consistency and confidence.

To our graduating dogs and families: congratulations. You showed up, stayed committed, and worked through a day that could have easily become an excuse. Instead, it became part of the lesson.

Because at QK Dogs, we believe trained dogs live better lives — even when New England decides to throw hail at the final exam.

Well done, everyone. 🐾

Jennifer has owned horses since her early twenties and spent over 15 years in competitive trail riding, including 50-mile endurance rides up and down the East Coast.

With horses, you learn quickly that partnership is not a soft idea, it is a practical requirement. The best results come from connection, clarity, and lightness, when the animal chooses to follow because your leadership makes sense. That philosophy became the foundation of The Quiet Kue.

Tonight, as I was leaving the kennel after a full and wonderful day at QK, I had one of those little moments that stopped me in my tracks.

I had spent the day surrounded by our incredible QK crew — the people who show up every day with grit, care, humor, patience, and a deep, genuine love for dogs. I often marvel at them. Not just at how hard they work, but at how they interact with the dogs. How they know them. How they read them. How they build relationships with them.

This is not just a job for the right kind of dog person.

It is a lifestyle.

As I passed the grooming room tonight, I looked in and saw Sydney and Chelsea loving on one of our very regular boarders, Brick. Brick is an outstanding Labrador Retriever who also trained with us, and he has become part of the QK family in every way. We adore him, and we adore his people.

There he was, getting his spa bath, blow dry, and pedicure — standing in the middle of two QK team members who know him, care for him, and genuinely enjoy him.

Of course, I had to go in and visit.

And Brick, in all of his Labrador enthusiasm, gave me the kind of greeting only a dog can give — full heart, full body, full slobber. I caught the moment in slow motion, and it says everything better than I ever could.

This is QK.

It is the training.
It is the structure.
It is the systems.
It is the standards.

But above all, it is the people.

The people who love the dogs.
The people who do the hard work.
The people who make the daily rhythm of QK Dogs feel like home.

To our QK team — thank you. You are the hands, heart, and daily devotion behind this place.

And to Brick — thank you for the slobber. I’ll take that kind of love any day.

This is what obedience training at QK looks like in practice. Dogs of every breed and size, working alongside their owners, building the foundation for a life that is easier and more connected.

At QK, programs are designed around your dog's individual needs, whether you are starting with our 3-week Puppy Head Start or enrolling in our 6-week Complete Obedience On and Off Leash Program.

The goal is always the same: a dog that listens, a household that functions, and an owner who feels confident.

Jennifer's first dog was a standard poodle named Ginger. They did everything together, skateboarding, boating, hiking, and early AKC obedience classes. She has said that leaving Ginger behind when she left for college was one of the hardest things she had ever done. That love for dogs has never wavered, and it is at the heart of every program at QK.

Jennifer was not allowed to have a dog growing up. So she borrowed the neighbor's Labs and brought them into the field. In camp, she was often the only young girl among her father and a circle of seasoned old-timers.

She found her steadiness beside those dogs, held them close in the chill, and watched them come alive with purpose. She has called that borrowed companionship the seed of everything that followed.
