Fuzzy Paws Pet Villa & Spa and Doggie Day Care

Fuzzy Paws Pet Villa & Spa and Doggie Day Care That’s how Fuzzy Paws Pet Villa & Spa and Doggie Day Care was born.

In our travels over the years from house to house as Pet Sitters of South Hills, it occurred to us that dog owners needed a place where they could take their dogs when they went on vacation, away on business, or just needed a day off … a place where they knew their dogs were safe, maybe even on vacation, too. Our dream of a safe haven for pets while their owners did “non-pet things.” A place where pet owners would know their pet was well taken care of and safe, getting exercise and having fun.

We are now offering new enrichment activities for your dog. The first item is a frozen yorgut treat. Made fresh with Greek yogurt, blueberries and strawberries. This snack would be great on a hot day! We also have lick mats made with yogurt, pumpkin or peanut butter! Talk to a staff member about adding these frozen treats to your pets stay.

"The power of probiotics
Benefits for the whole dog
Advertisements touting the benefits of probiotics are plentiful claim that they are a cornerstone of preventative care. Probiotics boost the healthy gut bacteria that help digest food. They are a well-known therapy for diarrhea and gastrointestinal upset. More recently, they’ve been found to counter urinary tract infections, immune system disorders and even anxiety.

In fact, mental health is one of the most exciting revelations about probiotics. Your dog’s gastrointestinal tract and brain are in constant contact, and proper microorganisms in the intestines can help with mental and emotional regulation.

The bacterium called bifidobacterium longum, commonly known as BL999, is at the forefront of this discovery. Dr. Ragen T.S. McGowan, a pet behavior researcher for Nestlé Purina, reported that dogs who took BL999 were less likely to bark, jump, spin or pace in situations that normally caused them distress. They were also more likely to explore a new environment."

We recommend optagest for a probiotic. It is highly palatable and is plant based.
