Announcement ‼️‼️
It is with mixed emotions that Im announcing I will be closing “The GOAT expert” effective immediately. It has been a great 17 years doing this but with my own farm and my little kids it has been to difficult for traveling over the mountain. Thank you to all my loyal customers who have had me out over the years, it truly was a joy working with your animals and meeting you all. I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Below you will find the contact for Brittany who is offering the same service and is conveniently located on the Portland side of the mountains. Please reach out to her for any future scheduling

Breed: Boer, Wether

Used to be a very submissive goat until his half brother, our lead goat, passed away, now he wants to lead my other two goats who are more submissive. Not aggressive. Has never used his horns against other livestock, goats, or ourselves. Just doesn’t enjoy humans like my other two do. We got him from a meat producer at around 4 weeks old to add to our herd for kids to interact with but doesn’t want to be pet. Easy keeper on food. UTD on vet exam. Could loose weight (probably is around 200lbs at the moment?) Free to brush goat home only. Not for food!!

Kidding season is hard. Very hard. No matter how many diagrams you may study about respositioning kids inside of a doe, identifying parts and lining them up properly while remaining gentle and methodical is challenging.

In so sorry but looks like the weather isn’t going to allow goat work this weekend. Please stay safe everyone and remember goats can handle the cold but drafts kill.

Drivers both in Central Oregon and the west side of the state need to be prepared for severe winter weather Friday and Saturday.

I’m keeping an eye on the weather for this weekend. If the pass is going to be blizzard conditions we will not be making the trip on the 14th. I’ll be getting in touch with everyone who is already on the books for that day if this is the case
