This sweet kitty needed a fresh start! A few unfortunate circumstances led to a very matted cat, but kitty is feeling amazing after their Lion Cut with Miss Julia.
This type of matting is what groomers refer to as "pelting." As the hair is shaved, because of the severe matting, it remains intact and connected.
In the photo on the right of the removed matting, you can see how from the outside, the hair looks relatively normal. The pelting occurs at the skin! This is why we encourage COMBING your pet after brushing. Brushes are essential, but a comb will allow you to reach the skin to prevent matting!

Hey everybody, it seems crazy to say this, but it seems like we’re coming time to have everyone start booking out for the remainder of the year if you are able to do so. We’ve already had handfuls of clients begin doing this so they can secure their
Pets appointment and preferred day and time, especially around the holidays. Please make sure you are selecting the appropriate package and size when booking 🙂 
We are currently booking into July for haircut packages. There are a few fit in days left for an additional fee.

Happy three years to the best manager around!! Julia has been on this crazy ride with me from the beginning and new, big amazing things are only in the future. I couldn’t imagine my life without her, much less my business. She is so important to all the moving parts of this business and is a hell of a groomer. New puppy at home? Don't forget we offer our Puppy Love Spa for pups 5 months and younger! (Must be vaccinated for rabies.) Louis was a perfect gentleman for his Puppy Love with Miss Irene! He learned all about nail clipping, scissors, and the dryer, and he got a whole bunch of treats. It was awesome!

Happy Tuesday. Here’s a puppy update. 5 weeks old today 🙂
It’s 8am and...wait. We aren’t open until 9. That’s right. But little Chloe here had a pretty Terrible grooming experience before that also required a lot of medical care. So Michelle takes special time for one on one care before hours to make sure she always feel safe and secure. she always comes running right through the door and into our bathing area so we think she’s having a blast!!

As a certified veterinary technician (CVT), owner and groomer Michelle has always had a love for animals. She has worked in many animal settings including shelter medicine, emergency medicine, and general practice.
Michelle realized she had a hand for grooming and began basic bathing in her home bathtub for close friends. This soon spread to neighbors and friends and then Michelle’s Compassionate Grooming was born.
She has read of all the horror stories from large corporation grooming business of mistreatment and even death of animals and she wanted to provide a safe place that offered quality grooming. Current clients loved the idea and the fact that she is a CVT had many people with old or sick pets feel more comfortable having them groomed by her.
As business grew, equipment was bought, licenses, insurance, etc. until we were official. The garage was completely remodeled to accommodate grooming and now owners and pets enjoy having their pets groomed in a private, quiet setting. We focus on fear free, stress free grooming. All grooms are by appointment only meaning when your pet comes in they are getting groomed at that time and not waiting around for hours on end. Pets go home as soon as they're done so owners and pets are much happier.
Michelle’s Compassionate Grooming was nominated for Simply the Best 2018 and 2019! Even though the business has grown substantially it does not change the personal time and care your pet gets with their appointment.
