Every single month, it costs $200–$300 just to keep our rescue dogs protected with flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. It may not be the most exciting expense, but it is one of the most important. These preventatives keep our dogs healthy, comfortable, and safe while they wait for the loving homes they deserve.

As always, we rely completely on the kindness and support of people who care about these dogs as much as we do. Even a few dollars can help more than you know. When everyone gives a little, it adds up to lifesaving care for the dogs who depend on us every day. ❤️

Honey is located in Virginia and then will be back in NC this coming weekend. A bit from her foster home.

“I picked up Honey and took her all the way back to Virginia in what would be my first ever fostering experience. She slowly unraveled her own personality. From falling asleep in our hands to soaring through the yard with pure joy in her hops - we have loved every second of watching her grow. When she chooses you, she chooses you for life. She would do best in a home with another dog who can teach her to trust and do all of the fun things! She does great on a leash and rides well in the car. She is new to walks so will definitely need some training in how to be okay walking past other dogs and humans - she mostly goes on strolls to places at less populated times. Honey is literally experiencing all of the normal things much later in her life and deserves a home with people who are willing to devote patience and autonomy to her. PS, she has done well with our cats too. We love her so much and want her adopters to be familiar with her breed and the dedication it takes to raise a rescue. How can you resist those cheeks?”
