Saving the Rockwood Kitties

Saving the Rockwood Kitties This page is dedicated to the colony of dumped cats in Rockwood Creek in Cameron MO. I have been an animal lover all of my life.

In May of 2019, some coworkers of mine saved a 2-week old kitten that had been left by his mother. They knew my love for animals and asked me if I'd take care of him. I gave it my all for the 2 weeks following as the kitten had too many medical problems. He passed away at the vet's office on June 2nd. granted I still tear up over his passing as he was a little fighter. But then I met a litter of a

ll boys, a pack of 5. They were dehydrated, malnourished, anemic, and full of worms and fleas. out of the 5, there were only 3 that survived. I kept 1 and the other two went home. My guy has a lot of challenges due to his tough upbringing early in life. But I wouldn't trade them for the world... After that I wanted to help more animals and save many more lives.

Well, I moved to a new home and a new town but not before finishing my goal which was saving the colony. The entire colony but 3 have been relocated to multiple farms in Polo where they are thriving and doing so well. I took Cali and Abby with me to my new home but unfortunately they escaped before completing the transition period. I've searched and searched for over a month and can not find them at all. It really breaks my heart. I am however going to delete my page in a few days as there's really no more need for it. I created this page to help my colony I was taking care of. So now that they've been relocated and I'm no longer in Cameron there's no need for the page to stay active. Though I might make a page just for my remaining furkids.

Who says outdoor cats can't play with indoor cat toys? It helps keep their hunting skills sharp just like indoor cats.

Meet Lila, I found her taped up in a box last week with her sister with no ventilation... sadly her sister did not survive. Lila was very spicy when I first brought them home and set up a sick bed for them in a large dog kennel. The gray kitten was very sick from day one and it was clear she wasn't going to make it. Lila on the other hand was mad at the world. It took a few days for her to trust me. I'm getting her kitten shots started next week and she will be ready for her new home.
If anyone is interested in Lila please contact me Amanda Robertson at 660-973-8837

So, I was taking Kenny and Yano to the vet yesterday for shots when a friend of mine came forward about an hour before I needed to leave with the kittens.... she was looking for a kitten and she adopted Yano! And as a bonus this little wild child torti that I'd found just a day or two ago! She took both kittens into her home! Thank you Andyy! I know these girls will be so loved and cared for!

And what's in store for Kenny? Well... after thinking about it... he's staying right here... I lost my orange tabby Garfield several months ago, and I know Kenny can never replace that stubborn boy... I feel my heart is ready for another orange tabby and I'm in a better place financially so the new addition won't be a problem. I'm taking a break from kittens after this long 9 month run of rescuing and nursing sick and dying kittens. Now that all the females but one are spayed I shouldn't have to worry about any more. There is planning in the works to trap Jazzy's mom and get her spayed.
