🐾 YOUR PUPPY DOES NOT NEED TO BE ENTERTAINED EVERY WAKING SECOND.

I said what I said. 🙃

Somewhere along the way, we decided that if a puppy is awake, we need to be doing something with it.

Playing. Training. Toys. Walks. Enrichment. More toys. More activities. More stimulation.

STOP.

Puppies need to learn how to do nothing.

They need naps. They need quiet time. They need to learn that the world doesn’t revolve around entertaining them every second they’re awake.

A puppy who is constantly stimulated can quickly become a puppy who expects constant stimulation.

Then you end up with a dog who can’t settle unless someone is actively entertaining them.

Teaching your puppy to relax, chew a toy, hang out in their crate, lie at your feet, or simply EXIST without demanding attention is just as important as teaching sit, down and recall.

And no, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t exercise, train, play with, or enrich your puppy. Those things are important!

But balance is everything.

Your goal isn’t to create a puppy who is constantly exhausted.

It’s to raise a dog who knows how to turn it on AND turn it off.

Because eventually, you’re going to want to sit on the couch without your dog demanding a full-time entertainment director.

Welcome to the pack, Miss Penny!

This little lady just wrapped up Week 1 of our day train program, and she’s already excelling at :
• Door boundaries
• Leash manners
• Structured walks
• Kenneling up on command
• Sit
• Down
• Growing confidence and duration on her obedience commands

Proud of this progress, Penny! We can’t wait to see what Week 2 brings!

An open door is not permission to exit.

Learning to wait for permission to exit is an important life skill. We don’t want dogs bolting out doors when something gets delivered or a child opens the door. We also want to reward a calm mindset, not frantic exits. This applies to all doors, including the kennel and car doors.

Welcome to the program, Montana!

We are SO excited to welcome this gorgeous 6-month-old Goldendoodle girl to our Day Train Program! Montana, we are beyond thrilled to have you and cannot wait to set this girl up for success!

She’s here to work on all of her basic commands, but more importantly, she’ll be building the life skills that truly matter to help her become calm, cool, collected, and confident in every future encounter life throws her way.

Montana, you are in the best hands and we cannot wait to watch you shine! Welcome to the family, sweet girl!
