The foundation of our breeding program, the sire of out great late sire Tru Tru Deck—Tru Tru🫶

Tru Tru was foaled in 1968. He was bred by Alex Weinstein in California. Tru Tru was by the Thoroughbred stallion Truly Truckle and out of Gold Cupid, a race-winning daughter of Chudej’s Black Gold. Tru Tru made 26 starts and won 9 races. His biggest wins were in the Monita Stakes and Beulah Classic Stakes.

Tru Tru was owned by Juanita McConville. He stood at the Big M Ranch in Los Molinos, California. He sired 331 AQHA registered foals. Buckaroo Bandit, Poco Tru Tru and Tru Tru Deck were some of his noteworthy Quarter Horse sons. Tru Tru also sired Painted Tru Tru, an APHA World Champion sire.

Truly Truckle, the sire of Tru Tru, was a Thoroughbred stallion foaled in 1957. Truly Truckle was bred my Joe Maggio in California. He was by Fair Truckle and out of Fair Sister, by Requested. Truly Truckle made two starts and won one race. He sired 449 AQHA recognized foals, including Truckle Feature, the 1973 AQHA Racing World Champion. Burgundy Express, Election Day, Tippy Canoe, True Roman and Trulys Easter were some of his other noteworthy Quarter Horse sons. He also sired Enrs Truly Truckle, an Appaloosa stallion.

Check out this flashy, black, 7-year-old gelding. Mr T stands 15.1 HH, weighs 1250 lbs, and has great foot and bone. He has been used extensively on our 1,000 acre ranch, doing all aspects of ranch work, from dragging calves during branding season to doctoring yearlings in the pasture. Mr. T is extremely gentle and will suit any level of rider. He is a big and strong gelding with a gentle heart. If there was a job needing done on the ranch, he was the one everyone would choose to get the job done and is a pleasure to ride. He crosses water, has a good ground covering walk, and is confident over deadfall and obstacles. Mr. T shines in the arena as well! He is a finished head horse, with all the right buttons. He scores flat footed, runs in position to throw, and has that natural rate. He is strong on the horn and handles cattle with ease. Mr. T has great manners, and is always willing to please. He’s the first to meet you at the gate in the morning, and is definitely a barn favourite, around here. He is great with the farrier, good to clip, and enjoys his bath. Mr. T is UTD on his farrier, deworming and vaccinations.
