Dr Barber recently attended an equine dental education seminar at the beautiful Alisol Ranch. She refined her skills including a comprehensive oral exam, dental radiographs, as well as diagnosing and treating common dental pathologies.

Routine equine dental exams, not just floats, are essential for your horses overall health. Your horse should be getting a sedated speculum exam at least once a year. If the mouth is not directly visualized, it is difficult to know what it really going on in there.

Early discovery of minor issues can help decrease serious dental complications like weight loss, oral ulcers and tooth death.

Saddle fit is an integral component of a ridden horse’s success and comfort. Behavioral changes under saddle, muscle loss or soreness, irritability, and performance issues can all be linked to poor saddle fit. As your horse ages and their fitness level evolves, your saddle might need modifications to keep them healthy. A properly fitting saddle is also essential for cases of kissing spine.

This clinic has been certified an official “Santa’s E.L.V.E.S.” (Emergency Landing and Veterinary Expert System) location.

In the event that Santa’s reindeer team needs to make an unscheduled Christmas Eve stop for sled repairs, refueling, or veterinary care, staff at this clinic will be available to provide needed assistance and ensure a safe and on-time delivery of Santa’s cargo.
