Aureole Ranch Horse Rescue

Aureole Ranch Horse Rescue We are a 501c3 non profit organization that focuses on the rescue and rehabilitation of at risk horses.

We are a small, private rescue located in Napa Valley, CA that hopes to raise awareness of horse welfare. Among our passions, is to fight the new proposals of America's horses being slaughtered in the US for human consumption over seas. Most Americans have no idea that horses are still slaughtered...and when they find our that the horse's meat is sent to Europe for human consumption, they are sh

ocked. Educating the public and gaining awareness is key in the volatile and on going battles against proposed slaughter houses. Aureole Ranch will work with individuals as well as other organizations to help where and whenever possible.

Our little Luca is looking so much better! We thank those who initially secured his safety but that is only the beginning to his journey.

Would you consider a $20 per month sponsorship to help us get him much needed training? The average 30 day training is $1200-$1500.
This would be an investment in Luca’s future and is so necessary for finding his forever home.

Our little Luca has gained much needed weight! He’s a sweet kid. We’re working on getting his sweet itch feeling better as he’s been quite itchy.
Luca is on medication for this which runs around $120 per month. If anyone would like to help by sponsoring a small portion of his meds, we would be grateful !

We are beyond saddened by this news. This tragedy could have been easily avoided if the cyclist would have slowed and announced he was behind them. Horses are flight animals.
Let’s hope the cyclist is FOUND & held accountable

Our little man has been here roughly a month and is looking much better. The glow up is happening! Heres a very short video of from the day he arrived to last evening at dinner time❤️

Our new little man is still adjusting and learning, and a bit apprehensive about certain things. One of the odder ones is the fact that he’s afraid of large troughs. He is not comfortable with anything larger than a mug bucket size full of water. To encourage him, we brought his grain over by the water trough and coax him over. After stopping the video, we put his grain bowl near the trough, but it was still too overwhelming for him…
Baby steps….

Duke is filling out and looking better. He’s enjoying his grain these days!

Duke is still settling in and we’re getting to know each other. He’s exhibited some very ying & yang behaviors; great at leading, touching in the front end but reactive to anything below his chest or past a certain point on his upper frame. He has the most flexible kick I’ve ever seen…. We’ve got our work cut out for more desensitizing. Tonight was just scratching the surface to see where we lie, but I know we can give this little guy sone confidence in himself AND we humans ❤️

It was a beautiful evening last night, not only due to the amazing sunset, but also because of our newest rescue enjoying his new friends and surroundings.
Duke is still adjusting to his new life here. He’s finding comfort in our small Saint Helena herd and getting all of the food he can eat.

We had some rain last night but our little dude had his own shelter & plenty of hay to keep warm.

Duke is here and settling in!

Thank you to those who’ve donated. We are beyond grateful and your generosity has saved this little gelding from shipping to slaughter…. For real. ❤️
This little guy will require some major help and hopefully we can recruit some sponsors. Aureole Ranch Horse Rescue

This is amazing news. Donkeys go to slaughtered solely for their skins. Disgusting what humans believe and will do to animals on some 💩belief

Today, US Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA) reintroduced the bipartisan Ejiao Act to ban the sale and trade of donkey-hide gelatin products in the United States; a recent survey shows that 71% of Americans support the bill.
