I never thought I'd be that personโ€ฆ the one who RSVPs "yes" and then quietly stays home. But here I am, sitting on the floor next to my little Maltese, watching the wedding I promised to attend through my window. The smoke alarm screamed at 2 AM. I woke up coughing, disoriented, flames already licking the hallway. The firefighters yelled at me to GET OUT. But my little Maltese was still inside, trembling under the bed where she always hides during storms. ๐Ÿ˜ข

I didn't think. I ran. Back through the smoke, back through the heat, back into the room where the ceiling was already glowing orange. I found her curled up, shaking, eyes wide with terror. I scooped her into my arms and BOLTED. ๐Ÿพ

The firefighter said I was crazy. Said I could've died. And maybe I could've. But looking down at her tiny face pressed against my chest as we ran down those steps? I'd do it again a thousand times. ๐Ÿ’ฏ
