With Thanksgiving tomorrow, we wanted to express our appreciation and gratitude for our clients and give a glimpse of insight into our relationship with you all. You may not realize the impact you have on our lives.
Veterinary medicine in a small town is so much different than most jobs in regards of human connection.
There's a different kind of connection between Veterinary professionals and clients.
Yes, it's about the pets' health, but it's also about the pets' humans.
The connections we build from being there for some of the hardest times in their lives with their fur babies or just seeing them on a regular basis saying hi, exchanging stories between each other.
With many of us working at the same practice for many years, we have known many of the same owners with multiple sets of pets, remembering each one as a puppy or kitten but also remembering how fast their kids grew up, how quickly they themselves became elderly.
Seeing them and being there at their most vulnerable moments as a pet owner and sometimes through their most personal battles as well.
That is something that cannot be replaced or replicated.
Everyone always talks about compassion fatigue in the veterinary field because of the animals but that's only part of it.
When you have those special clients and the special patients and then you lose them, it's a different kind of hurt.
You realize you start cherishing those visits with their pets or them coming by just to pick up medications so you can see them regularly.
Hearing a certain client's voice in the lobby and stopping what you're doing just to go see them and cut up.
And at least at our clinic, we are so blessed to have such amazing clients that we truly appreciate.
Thank you all for allowing us to be a part of your lives and being a part of ours!

This week we lost a dear client. All of our clients and their pets are special to us, but Mr. Crow held such a special place in our hearts with his jovial personality and sense of humor. Every time he came in, he made us smile and laugh. We will truly miss you, Mr. Crow! We were blessed to know you and know we will do everything we can to take care of Mrs. Susan and all your furbabies! Rest well our sweet friend.
