Compassion Ranch

Compassion Ranch Animal sanctuary (full with waiting list until more shelters, fences, donations) & education center. [email protected]. www.CompassionRanch.org.

Programs help students develop character traits compassion, patriotism, courage and plans for life. 40+ animals receive care & feeding--horses, ponies, donkeys, pig, goat, dogs, cats--in residence and some homeless. Compassion Ranch & Institute is a nonprofit program (501c3) hosted in Central Alabama at Triple D Ranch and Farm (provides land and most labor). Our main mission is sanctuary and educa

tion center--different from a rescue. We host events, student classes for families and groups that have purpose and work parties for people who value caring for animals. And, we provide resources to teachers, parents, mentors, and patriotic citizens. Learn about the animals and programs:

If you need to surrender an animal, you can send your Facebook link with photos and info--or an email--so we can share if we know of people who have interest.

Our rescued duck we named Daisy was on a seasonal pond that dried up, and then we moved her to what we thought would be her favorite place. It even had an island. But she left that pond and came back to be on a smaller but pleasant pond with our Arlington horses, specifically Hank and Lincoln plus Wounded Warrior. She seems to like the comfort of being around big animals, because predators don't seem to come around them. We're trying to keep her alive and happy, and she is guiding us along the way.
