Ride for Joy Therapeutic Riding Program Ride for Joy promotes physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being through life-changing equine-assisted services.

The Ride for Joy Therapeutic Riding program is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that incorporated April 2007 but has been operational since 1998. Ride for Joy (RFJ) offers therapeutic riding in the greater Treasure Valley for individuals, along with Military personnel and Veterans with medical disabilities. Horses have the ability to read, understand, and relay emotional and physical stresses

that people are experiencing. They have helped individuals build a stronger sense of security, confidence and strengthening of coping mechanisms. For people with physical limitations or needs, horses have been shown to re-teach and strengthen balance, coordination, and motor functions.

Join us for our Instructor-in-Training Info Meeting to learn how our mentorship program prepares you to become a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI), empowering individuals with disabilities and veterans.

When: September 8th | 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Where: Sage Equine Center at the Idaho Youth Ranch Hands of Promise Campus

We’re looking for candidates with:

Intermediate to advanced riding & horsemanship skills

Availability to teach on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays

High school diploma or GED

A heart for serving veterans and participants with disabilities

Come out and enjoy interactive games and hands-on activities with our amazing horses. Afterward, beat the heat with sweet snow cones and relax on the patio for a fun picnic lunch! 🍧🧺

Our All-Abilities Summer Camp this past week was an absolute joy! The kids had a fantastic time riding, crafting, and wrapping up the days with well-deserved snow cones. One of the absolute best parts of camp is getting to see our riders' siblings and friends join in on the fun and experience the magic of the barn right alongside them. A huge Thank you to all of our volunteers who stepped up to lead groups, hold horses, and keep the energy high!

We are kicking off our summer programs, and keeping our hard-working horses comfortable in the heat is our top priority.

🛍️ Our Summer Wish List:
Fly Sheets: Sizes preferred: 75"–84"
Fly Masks: Horse & Warmblood sizes (any style accepted!)
Fly Spray & Swat: Specifically Swat Clear—our absolute daily essentials!

🔄 Have Gently Used Gear?
We would absolutely love to give your gently used fly masks or fly sheets a second life! If you have any extra gear lying around that fits the sizes listed above, our herd would be incredibly grateful to use them!
