The beautiful custom saddle that sweet Apollo won me was delivered last week!! I am so ecstatic about this saddle!! Thank you Teens And Oregon Mustangs and Corriente Saddle Company for this amazing award!! Opening that box and seeing it for the first time made a whirlwind of emotions pass through me.. Countless hours of blood sweat and tears all cumulated to that moment. But more rewarding than any award is seeing Apollo flourish with his new family. I miss him, but that feeling is fleeting because of the endless love he has and the immense joy he brings. ❤️

Have a bad ride? Rough day working at the barn? A saddle you want just financially out of reach?

I'd like to take this time to remind you that...

Hunter/jumpers: we ride horses in circles and jump sticks for a living and then we let some person tell us our horse did, or did not, jump the sticks as pretty as another horse.

Dressage: we trot in circles and let someone tell someone else to write down whether or not we are circley enough for the circle club

Eventers: we decided jumping out of an airplane without a parachute wasnt exciting enough, so we run at mach speeds towards walls, ditches, and small lakes to see who can do it fastest.

Barrel racers: we spend all of our time fine tuning our ability to turn 3 times faster than anyone else

Ropers: we catch calves that are technically already caught

Steer wrestlers: we wrestle an animal that didnt even know there was a wrestling match coming their way

Team Sorters: even on our worst day, we didnt spend as much as the cutters.

Reiners: see dressage, add speed.

Cutters: we let several people tell us were better, or worse, at not letting calves hang out with their buddies.

Team penners: we take caught calves, and make them a little more caught

Mounted shooters: because weve used this skill ever in the last 200 years

Endurance: we take 10 times as long, and 10 times more money to get somewhere an ATV could've brought us.

Western Pleasure: we poke around at wine sipping speeds in the equestrian equivalent of a ball gown.

Obstacle challenges: we use anything that might possibly scare the crap out of most horses, spend too much time to set it up, then bring the formally sleeping horse through it as we tell them to relax.

Trail riders: cheers. Yall have it figured out 🤣

It's not that serious yall, so just have fun!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I’m thankful for all my friends and family and of course my animals. Whether they’re mine, or with me for any amount of time, they’re apart of my story and my happiness. ❤️ I hope everyone has a great day full of love and good food!!😊🦃

Now this is one of JackJacks favorite party tricks.🥰 I don’t remember what possessed me to teach him this, but now he will put his front feet on just about anything if I ask him to😂 I just love willing horses that you can teach just about anything to.

I sure am blessed to have some amazing horses that put up with my shenanigans! My 5 year old JackJack was more than happy to help move a wheel-line across the field today. I’m so fortunate to have a horse that I can put a leather rein around his neck and just swing a leg over knowing that he’s got me.❤️

Fun Fact: JackJack is the first horse I trained on my own, and I’m still the only one to have swung a leg over him, besides a number of kids that have ridden double with me.🥰
