It's so cold outside where I live. Please Please bring in your pets, they all don't have to be as spoiled as these three below but why not? Some of them can handle the cold but it doesn't mean they need too. I can survive a few days without my coffee but you aren't going to like me. Please Please bring all pets in the house.....

If you know anyone that is giving a pet as a gift please speak to them and explain why these animals will be crowding the shelters in about 8 months. Pets are a full time and lifetime commitment not to be given out as gifts. The decision to take on a new family member should be discussed and planned as a family unit. So if your children ask for a puppy for Christmas please explain to them that another living creature should be treated with more respect than the equivalent of something that you can get from the toy store. The best Christmas gift you can give to a child who wants a pet is the opportunity to show you they are responsible and look for a shelter dog as a family after the chaos of the holidays subside. You will be a stronger family unit for waiting

Not everyone can own a pet but we can all encourage others to be responsible. Alter your pets, adopt as well encourage others to adopt don't shop. Breeders are completely different. They check DNA not let two dogs mate. Make a difference everyday in a better way......

FYI ABOUT TICKS Ticks are everywhere due to the mild winter. If you mix "regular " Listerine (NOT the mint kind !!) mouthwash with a small amount of water in a spray bottle and mist your dog , it will greatly deter ticks from getting on your pet. This is from Vet Dr Mike Huchinson from Animal General in Cranberry Pa.He has a radio show on KDKA and is on KDKA. Lots of fleas and ticks out there !! It's 3 parts regular brown Listerine to 1 part water by the way !!! 😉

Rarely do I talk about individual clients on here but I need to discuss something very important. A wonderful family in Kuna hired me for their Amazing Boxer. I think knowing your breeds are very important. Even with a true mix you can usually tell the prominent breed. Hope is her name, she is a 35 pound small boxer pup. She is young but pretty much full grown. The runt of the litter is usually significantly smaller but she stayed that way, these kind family have two other dogs as well as two cute kids. Jennifer hired me to help them train Hope to be a happy well behaved dog. When I met them I did ask that they remove the e-collar from her and not use it again and she has happily complied. E-collars have a place with a hunting dog, they will go out and retrieve when they are to tired to swim. It's important for their safety that they must have instant recall when guns are involved. Even with e-collars they must attend a good training program in order for them to work for you safely. I am not against them completely but I personally won't use one and beg people to try my way first. I am positive reinforcement only. That doesn't mean they get everything for free. That means they must earn everything they get through training. When not in active training they still have to give you some purpose to feed them or you will have a bad behaved pet. This goes for everyone on this planet. If you work for something or someone you will have more respect for yourselves as well as those around you this trickles down to our Pets as well. It's imperative that each dog feels love and have a clear purpose to please you as well as themselves. You being the lead in that family. Hope had OCD as well a slight eye condition due to a laser pointer. Never to be used on dogs only for cats but most people don't realize that. She will be fine, we are teaching her to redirect the shadow chasing, Teaching her basics plus a few tricks so the kids can be involved. Please recommend and speak up when
