Coconut Hound

We currently offer authentic Dominican Republic sea shells collars as well as climbing rope collars and leashes. Coconut Hound is a new, small business currently run out of Idaho. I started Coconut Hound to bring Dominican Republic style sea shell collars to the US (my father resides in the DR). These collars are handmade by me (from cutting/grinding shells to putting them together) and take me ab

out half a day to make each one, depending on the size of the collar. I can make them for cats and dogs in the traditional double strand style and for smaller animals in bracelet/anklet single strand style. These collars are durable in that they can handle the elements, but they should not have a leash attached to them to be used for walking/training. They are made with a wooden bead closure which works as a sort of ‘break away’ collar if enough pressure is applied to keep all pets who wear them safe. After learning more about collars and wanting to continue to create unique items that represent where I currently live, I expanded with the ‘Mountain’ line. These collars and leashes are made from climbing rope paired with heavy duty fasteners to ensure they stay together. Current styles are made with clips or slip on with a ring for a leash/tags. However, I have many new styles on the way as well to help our collars really stand out. These are also hand made by me.
