With thousands of animals needing help and no shelter in the county, we're here to help both the citizens and animals of the county while working to educate the public on responsible animal care and necessary legislative changes to decrease the stray and homeless animal population. 🐾 Buckle up for a reunion story sure to make your heart break and heal a little all at once. 💔❤️

Yesterday, Tinley’s family was involved in a terrible vehicle crash at the Lee and Burleson County line. For the family’s privacy, we will not be sharing further details, but our hearts and prayers are with them.

Tinley went missing from the accident, but hope sparked this morning when a local citizen found her in their yard. 🏡✨

One of our incredible volunteer helpers had been closely following the story and coordinated the information to us here at HART. Away we went, bringing along one of our amazing alumni dogs, Red! We knew Tinley was skittish around new people and likely traumatized from such a harrowing event, so we were hopeful she would approach a friendly dog even if she was too scared to approach our board member.

It worked! 🎉

Tinley was safely secured and seemingly uninjured by our board member. We were able to contact her family members right away, who were already enroute to the area to try and recover her so she could be thoroughly checked out by a vet. 🐾🚙

While Lee County is not in our typical service zone, we knew we had to step up and try to help this sweet girl and her family get reunited.

We can’t do it all, but we will always do all we can. Stories like Tinley’s—where we can help bring a beloved pet back to their family—are exactly what push us through the hardest days. 💪❤️

UPDATE: Miss Tinley is safe, secure, and seemingly uninjured in the care of one of our board members with family on the way to take her home ❤️

🚨 URGENT: MISSING DOG / DO NOT CHASE 🚨

We need our community's eyes on the road, but we need your help safely and from a distance.
Following a motor vehicle accident this evening at the Burleson/Lee County line, a dog ran from the scene and is currently missing.

🐾 Dog’s Name: Tinley
🐾 Breed: Border Collie (initially reported as an Aussie)
🐾 Appearance: Black and white, wearing a vest
🐾 Temperament: Very skittish, traumatized from the accident, and unfamiliar with the area.

⚠️ CRITICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR RESPONDEES: ⚠️

❌ DO NOT CHASE HER: Tinley is terrified and without her human. Chasing her will only panic her more and potentially drive her further into danger or onto the roadway.

❌ DO NOT CROWD THE AREA: Please do not head to the location to search on foot. Extra people and vehicles will scare her into hiding deeper.

👀 WHAT TO DO INSTEAD: If you spot her, do not approach. Note the date, exact time, and location/direction she was heading, and comment immediately below with those details.

Tom Tom is a pint sized love bug that looks like a grumpy sleepy old man sometimes, but has a young happy go lucky attitude. He adores people and affection but just needs a little decompression time upon coming into a new environment to let his true personality shine.

Willow needs a forever family in Texas as she is heartworm positive but already on treatment. The rescue will continue to provide her treatment at no cost to her adopter until she tests negative. Her adoption fee is also waived.
