After a lot of conversation and weighing the amount of work we have to cover summer 2023 we have decided to CLOSE Blue Barn Produce. We have looked at all of our options and this is the decision that makes the most sense to our families. We have enjoyed working and producing food for all of our customers. We will keep you updated if we have any special events or opportunities to pick flowers in the garden. Thank you for all for supporting us over the years. If you have any questions please contact Bobbi or Sami.

**Stolen Vehicle**

Update 12/31/22: Pickup was found in Ontario and impounded. Thanks to everyone who kept an eye out and ultimately helped us find it!

It is extremely unfortunate that we have to make another post like this, but we have had another vehicle stolen. This pickup was stolen from our farm shop located very close to Blue Barn Produce in Caldwell, ID where the thief cut the locks to enter the premises. We believe they may have used the address on the registration in the first pickup stolen to locate our farm shop where the second pickup was located. It is a two door white 2011 Ford F150 with a transfer tank and tool boxes in the bed, a black Ranch Hand bumper (shown in the photo below) and the license plate is 2C PV707. The police have been notified, but if you see this vehicle please contact the police, message us, or call Bobbi at 208-899-7223.
Our flatbed which was stolen on December 7th is also still missing so please keep an eye out for it is as well.
Thank you everyone!

On our last post about lifting up all the dahlia tubers we had a lot of people asking about how we were planning on storing them. We dug them all up, labeled them and let them dry, blew the majority of the soil off using an air compressor, placed them all in totes filled with coarse vermiculite, and stored them in the barn where it will be around 45 degrees. In the spring we will “wake them up” in the greenhouse and divide all of the individual tubers off and get them planted in April or May! This is our first year digging them up so we will let you know how successful this method was for us when we go to divide them in the spring!💐🌱 I will also be checking them every week to make sure I don’t see any rotting or molding happening!😊

Dahlias are such a cool plant to grow and watching the one tuber that was put in this spring for each plant multiply into so many more tubers of all different shapes and sizes is something so cool to see.😍 Dylan brought my vision to life today and built an attachment for the tractor so I wouldn’t have to dig all of them up by hand and it worked perfectly!!🙌🏽 Now I will spend the day tomorrow getting them cleaned off and put away until spring 2023! Excited to share all their beauty with you all again next summer!!💐❤️ -Sami

After our Fall Festival the rest of our pumpkins were given to different classes around the valley, including Notus Elementary. We love these pictures of the students enjoying their day at the “pumpkin patch” at school😍🎃
