Hellooooo! It has been five years and a lifetime since I posted...is anyone still out there? Most of you followed this page because of The Barb Wire blog, so I wanted to let you know where I went. I hope this helps explain:

I didn't go to any rides last year. I couldn't. I am going to tell you why. My horse wasn't fit, because I wasn't fit to ride. There wasn't anything wrong with me, exactly, but everything was wrong...

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: Double-registered Half-Arabian and Pinto, KS Bold Rusha Rain "Maji" is as fun as she is fancy!

With hundreds of trail miles layered on a professional training base, Maji can be counted on for an enjoyable ride every time. This sweet mare is a natural athlete who loves to cover ground, either alone or in a group. She'll walk out nicely on a slack rein or treat you to her enthusiastic trot that gets even smoother with speed.

With three seasons of regular work under saddle, several 50-mile endurance rides, and a ride-and-tie competition under her girth, Maji is experienced, sound, and athletically fit. She is surefooted in technical terrain, doesn't fuss when encountering other horses, and handles traffic like a pro. She is confident riding out alone from home or trailer. I have seen her act herdbound when leaving her best buddy behind in camp (not at home), but she settles right down to business on the trail.

Maji knows how to take care of herself, eating and drinking well even in unfamiliar and stressful environments. She has been in regular work all year, so she's ready to jump right into your program without remediation. Get her into the arena or hit the trails! Although not a beginner's horse, she could be a great match for a confident junior rider.

Maji is easy to catch, trailer load, bathe, and deworm. She has been provided with excellent nutrition and is up to date on hoof care, deworming, and vaccinations. She stands about 14.2 and is 9 years old. Her forward attitude and people-friendly personality are well suited to a steady handler looking for a truly beautiful ride.

Asking $3800. Located near Boise, ID.

Here's an opportunity offered by my unofficial, but very influential, endurance mentor. If you're nervous about getting started or advancing in the sport, give it some thought. :)

25 degrees out at sunrise. Charging iPod and Garmin. Sizzling bacon on the stove. Just about to take Jammer out for 30 miles or so. He needs it, and we have trail to explore for a new endurance ride next spring!

Bella is a big, well-built BLM mustang mare who has been off the range and handled consistently since she was a weanling. She's about as "been-there, done-that" as a five year old horse can be. Her three months of professional training shine in the arena. She'll pick up canter leads, sidepass, turn on forequarters and hindquarters, open & close gates mounted, sidle up to a mounting block, jump, and tackle trail-challenge obstacles. She has been in a parade, to all kinds of local shows, on a cattle drive, and modeled for kids' horsemanship clinics. She has been ridden both English and Western, with a snaffle and curb, and on trails. She catches, ties, bathes, clips, fly sprays, picks up feet, tacks up, and trailer loads easily.

Bella has a steady personality without excessive spook or bad habits. Her only weakness is inexperience going out on the trail alone (she can get balky or pretend-spooky), but she's improving rapidly and will come around fine with more work. She's pretty comfortable trail riding with a buddy. She's not quite a beginner's horse because she needs someone who can redirect her occasional attempts to call the shots, but an intermediate on up should do fine with her.

Bella is the kind of horse that will hold up to years of work. She has lots of bone, straight legs, good feet, balanced conformation, stands a solid 15.2, and is a very easy keeper. She's up to date on routine health care including dental, deworming, vaccinations, and hooves. I'm only selling because my other horses and activities keep me too busy to give her the career she deserves.

$2200. May consider trade/part trade for high quality grass hay (must be delivered).
