DogHaus is now Groom Forge 🔥

Same team. Same heart. Same love for dogs. Just… a whole lot more to offer!

Over the last few years, I went on a bit of a journey of self-discovery as a groomer, business owner, and advocate for our industry. I came back with a bigger vision and a much bigger plate of knowledge and resources to serve our local Idaho community.

This is a formal, dedicated pathway to develop skilled, confident, professional pet stylists through Registered Apprenticeship — with real training, real standards, and real opportunity. With pet styling having acquired workforce recognition earlier this year, my hopes are that every state develops, delivers and dotes on a registered apprenticeship program. I love this initiative with my whole heart. 🥹🥹

That was some weather we got! I hope everybody is safe and dry. If your dog needs a quick bath, I've got time the next few days for baths in the salon and mobile pet nail trims at your home.
Our shop will be closed most of next week as we demo and lay new pet approved floor! 🐾

Nail trims are $20/per pet. Dogs or cats welcome. 🐈 🐕🐩

Cleanup baths in the salon are priced by weight also starting at $40.

To respect our space and help keep your pet comfortable, we require that your pet is UTD on vaccinations and request that they be under 70lbs. We honor our veterans, current military, educators, first responders, healthcare workers and students seeking pet services with priority booking and a 15% discount on your total service. ✨️

Located in the Oakes Brothers Marketplace building directly across from Indian Creek Steakhouse, we have access to one of the most historic and beautiful buildings in the area! We share the space with over a dozen other amazing locations who are also dog friendly. Please keep showing our building respect by picking up after your pets and come say hi if you hear me working! 🐾

Our car's AC picked the beginning of summer to quit. This is a fun few hundred dollar expense. 😅

So I'm opening up some extra Flash Bath + Brush + Nail appointments the next few weeks.

Offer valid for both new && existing clients. Per usual, pets must be UTD on rabies&distemper.

Hey guys. I’ve been working on something big, and I want to open the door for others too.

This administration recently launched a “Make America Skilled Again” initiative focused on strengthening skilled trades outside the traditional four-year degree path. Pet grooming is one of the industries beginning to receive real workforce attention as pet ownership rises and demand for skilled professionals grows.

After nearly a year of compliance, RAPIDS, meetings, and approvals, our 2,000-hour pet grooming apprenticeship officially received federal recognition. I’m not the first to do it, but I am the first federally approved program in Idaho.

Now approved, we can participate in workforce partnerships connected to funding for things like tuition, tools, transportation, salon upgrades, and apprentice support. After one workforce expo last week, I already had major contractors competing to help fund the program.

This isn’t a gimmick or a flex. The funding is tied to measurable employment outcomes and accountability.

The goal is bigger than one salon. It’s helping establish pet grooming as a visible, respected, stable skilled trade industry.

I felt a little like Elle Woods walking into this networking event && I stood out in the best way!!

Our booth wasn’t just a display, it was an experience. An interactive ecosystem.

I didn’t bring shiny, untouched demo products. I brought the real tools we use every single day; the ones we invest in, trust, && stand behind with integrity. People got to touch, test, smell, and truly engage with what we do (short of an actual groom).

And the conversations? Next level.

We talked about curriculum, certification, and the reality of this industry. A space where skilled pet stylists are building real careers, traveling, competing, and yes… earning six figures. Watching that shift people’s perspective in real time was everything.

With Will Burton by my side, we connected with industry leaders, innovators, and organizations that are truly moving things forward. I even stepped into a video interview moment (which I’ll probably never emotionally recover from 😅🎶🫶

But here’s the part that matters most:

We’ve now been invited to present pet grooming as a sustainable career pathway at upcoming state Department of Corrections and Department of Health & Welfare events.

That means this message > this industry < is reaching exactly where it needs to go. ❤️

Okay I normally keep things dog-related on here… but this one overlaps our little DogHaus family in the best way 🥹✨

A lot of you know Will (or have been to his shows!) and a huge part of DogHaus existing is because of the support between you guys and his music — I’ve met so many of you at shows, and he’s met so many of you through the shop. It’s all kind of intertwined at this point 🤍

He’s been nominated for the International Singer-Songwriters Association Awards in Atlanta, Georgia in multiple categories (!!), and voting is officially open.
