Mercer's Miniature Equine Rescue We focus on the mind body and soul of each equine ! We focus on rescuing the mind , body , and soul of each horse or donkey.

We are about rescuing miniature horses and donkeys in order to give them a soft place to land , heal , learn a new skill that is suited for their unique talents , and rehome to an approved forever home. Our mission is to help each miniature horse and donkey find a purpose in life , to be safe , without fear or pain. We do not judge the people that reach out to us for help and relinquish their mini

s to us , we applaud them for knowing when they have reached their limitations of caring for they animal. We will rescue, rehab , train a skill unique to that equines abilities and comfort level, and then find them a loving forever home. This process may take a short time after quarantine , or it may take many months to assure the animal is healthy and safe for his new home/ skill. PLEASE UNDERSTAND ;; We are a rescue we ARE NOT, "Flippers" or Brokers of any kind . Our mission is to promote safe , healthy minis for people to enjoy and love, that is why we screen, and have signed return contracts . We will not sell stallions, Jacks or any mares that we feel are going to be used for breeding purposes.

Well today went exceptionally well with both Thor and Loki !!

I was able to shave almost all of Loki's very p**p matted hair off of him .
After he realized the clippers were not going to kill him , he surprised me ,,and stood like the brave soul he is !!!
So proud of him today!

In the mean time Thor was so helpful , showing me all the places I needed to shave on his pal Loki..
This is a huge deal for Thor to get that close to me while the clippers were going ...remember Thor has virtually been untouched only two weeks ago !! Super proud of him too.
Plus he let me place a rope over his neck today !!
Still no halter.. but we will ask him again tomorrow....

Today is the day I will attempt to have Loki allow me to shave him.With all the dried p**p on him it hurts him if I try ...

Today is the day I will attempt to have Loki allow me to shave him.
With all the dried p**p on him it hurts him if I try to brush it off..
And we will work on learning to pick up and handle feet.
Very slow process!!

Our two new rescues are coming along great..
With our holistic approach, we dont rush the trusting and handling process..
Thor is gaining trust at his own pace and comfort level... and now let's us pet him and we can see a little bit more happiness in his eyes now.. It's only been one week, but we are amazed at his bravery and progress...

Loki has his ferrier appointment for the 14th ...
Hoping that goes uneventfully, it will take a few visits , but our ferrier , Justine Jenness is amazing and super patient....

Please consider these two boys to add to your family...they deserve a sweet forever home..!

JUST RESCUED TODAY..

These guys are not minis , but needed a second chance at life...
They are small standards....

These two are bonded and must go together!
Two Jack's...they both need loving care...
Grey 10yr old....halter and lead broke...
Feet are in bad shape at this time ...needs farrier work and they said he does not like his feet or ears touched.
Seems quiet enough though, and has good weight... just dirty and needs cleaned up ..

Brown 4yr old...Jack ...
Unhandled and very shy...
Not halter broke at this time...
Feet look in good shape
Needs alot of weight put on at this time.

I was able to touch him a couple hours after he arrived today and he took treats out of my hand . I think he has potential!!

They are for sale " as is" for the next couple weeks for $1200 for the pair ..
Price will be increased as they get cleaned up and handled through out the next couple weeks and then skills evaluation will begin ..

We will continue to take progress videos and pictures ..

THE INNER BOND WITH ALL THINGS

With each place it is like with the first encounter with a horse – it is about sensing as many of the energies as possible. With any kind of place, also with a house for example it is like with a horse, in the end you are in front of one single counterpart. Here with our new farm it is the same. Each night I sleep in another room – and we have a lot of them. In each room I try to perceive the energies, to fathom, what this particular place in the house needs – which colors, which kind of changes. With a horse I recognize immediately on each little reaction, what should be done. But the character of the inner examination is always the same. And only when the bond is tied, between two people, between a horse and a human, but also between a place and a house and a human, a wonderful exchange may take place – in each moment.

That’s what moved me today – in this sense:
