Obituary
YouCanCrosstyWalker (Crosstie)
Passed away peacefully and was laid to rest at the Brown Family Farm in Lenoir City on Wednesday, July 20th, 2023.
He was born May 5th, 1992 in Ludowici, Georgia and was a healthy happy 31 year old dark bay, registered American Quarter Horse.
His parents were Cross Tie Walker (sire) and YouCanCallMeCutiePie (dam).

He was a champion barrel horse in his younger days who could turn on a dime and never lose speed.

He was a patient and tolerant horse and was very forgiving of his riders.

He helped many adults and children alike rebuild their confidence in riding horses, including my own mother before her death in 2013.

He had a terrible trot but his canter and lope were absolutely amazing.

He made friends with all the horses but maintained his heard leader status until his death.

He became the Mascot of Crosstie's Wartrace Horse Stables who's goal was to provide a safe place for horse boarding where a horse would not be abused or neglected. Would be ensured to have enough to eat, their feet done and all of their needs met while boarding at his facility.

He was kept out of pain and never knew suffering. He was able to die with his dignity in tact.

He passed peacefully with Flicka and I, right by his side.

He is now buried on the farm overlooking the valley below.

I will carry his memory forever and we will do something with Crosstie's Business to keep his memory alive and to focus on helping all horses and their owners, whereever there is a need.

Rest easy my sweet sweet boy, until I see you again. mamma loves you. 💔🐴

Ya'll, my heart is ripping into tiny little peices.
Please, if you have ever prayed, please pray now. Crosstie is continuing to deteriorate since he cut his foot open. The wound is healing but I fear there is internal hoof death from lack of blood supply (He severed 3 arteries when he cut his foot). He is barley managed for pain, he can no longer put weight on his foot without being medicated, his appetite is come and go and he is losing lots of weight.
We can't keep going down this road and I promised him I would never let him suffer and he would be one who could die with dignity and know peace.
I want to keep him forever and I'm holding on to that one little hope that we can heal him. I keep hoping I will see a little improvement but I'm losing him. If he falls and he cannot get back up, that will be very traumatic for him and I will have failed him.
Please pray for my strength to do right by him what ever that is. Pray for God to heal him or give me the sight to know what to do. The vet will be here Wednesday.
If anyone was ever a hero, it's Crosstie.
