You guys know I ❤️ new foraging opportunities for the birds. Especially for smaller beaks, it can be difficult to find the right balance of safety and engagement. This Labyrinth perch from though is *chef kiss* perfection. Even little Quibble got to forage for some millet!

My heart is so happy for Bosco! 🥰 His new home shared this photo with me today with his new flock mate, Lilly. While we miss his cute little face and antics, I just knew in my heart that Bosco needed THIS in his life.

Needed to make some more "little beak" chop! Since I only have one little beak now, it's easier for me to make a larger batch of chop and then freeze it in smaller portions. I try to shop sales and in season items to ensure we get some variety throughout the year. This batch contains:

- red cabbage (about 1/8 of a head), diced
- 3 jalapeno peppers, diced
- 1 bag of mixed vegetables (corn, carrots, green beans, peas), still frozen
- 1 bag frozen California mix (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots), thawed and diced
- 3 radishes, diced
- 1.5 cups of cooked quinoa and grain mix

I sometimes mix these with other things before serving, such as freeze dried veggies (which help soak up excess moisture!), fresh sprouts, herbs, grains, or fresh fruit or veggies I have on hand. Otherwise it is thawed overnight in the fridge and served as is!

This is in addition to a pellet and seed diet.

It's been a really hard day. After months of talking with Bosco's original owner, we both felt that he was not truly thriving here in my home. I had hoped that Quibble would provide him the companionship he so desperately was looking for, however he was still searching for more.

Today we drove to meet his new owner, someone we both knew would take great care of him, who has a solo Linnie hen who lost her mate recently. We're all hopeful that the two of them will bond and everyone will be happier for it.

I absolutely adore Bosco and we didn't make this decision lightly. I however could not keep him for my own selfish reasons when it was clear to me that I wasn't providing him everything he needed.

I took Bosco in about 2 years ago when his owner was in need of a new home asap for health reasons. I will never regret being able to help her out and be a stepping stone for him.

I should get updates on his progress in his new home and will share what I can. My heart is both grateful and broken right now.
