Update: Luna, the husky pup, and Gretchen, the doodle, was adopted today, Friday.

Peanut Butter, Luna, and Gretchen playing outside in the shelter yard. We’re so shocked no one hasn’t snatched Gretchen (doodle) or Peanut Butter (lab) yet. Luna the Husky came to us as a stray and no one claimed her so she is available for adoption.

Come visit these babies and find your new friend.

Unfortunately we have to post this due to recent incidences.

If you bring a dog to the shelter as a stray you must show proof of residence in Pendleton County, no exceptions. In addition, if you bring in a dog and say it's a stray you just found and we later discover you were the owner or the dog resided in your home, regulations allow us to charge you with abandonment.

We would like to highlight one of our most important community partners, the Humane Society of Northern Kentucky Inc (HSNKY). They’re a 501C3 non-profit, based in Pendleton County, that focuses their time, energy and money on our local animal population.

We’re very fortunate to have such a great relationship with this first-class organization as we work together to care for the animals in our community. HSNKY is presently working hard at getting donations to help us build a new Animal Shelter (www.humanesocietynky.org/shelterbuild/ )

In addition to fund raising for a much needed new facility, they have assisted us in many other ways over the years that include:

🙋🏻‍♀️ Volunteer work
💰 Helping with veterinary costs
🐶 Fostering litters of puppies
💵 Offsetting costs of spaying/neutering shelter dogs
📄 Helping us establish programs at area veterinarians.

We are also proud to recognize and support an exceptional program created by our friends at HSNKY to curb the county’s stray animal population…the S’Neuter Clinic (www.humanesocietynky.org/sneuterclinic/ ).

This low cost spay/neuter clinic is held at the Pendleton County Extension Office, offered once a month to our county residents and brings together a traveling veterinarian and a group of volunteers to help us reduce the community cat problem as well as offering services to our local pets.

The S’Neuter Clinic offers “no cost to you” spay/neuter services for feral (stray) cats and a low-cost option for pet dogs and cats…over 300 animals were altered in 2023!

Not only does this month-to-month program require volunteers, but a variety of supplies are needed to keep it going. We’re hoping you’ll consider a donation from the S'Neuter Clinic’s Amazon Wishlist below…it will enable them to continue this important work. Thank you for any support you can offer to this outstanding program.

Here is a list of items needed for each clinic with the Amazon Wish List link below.
