You can make a difference by donating today to D'zz Spot Reptarium and Educational Center Inc.. Mrs. D changed jobs. In the long run it's going to be a good thing for the Reptarium. But in the first few months there's a learning curve that comes at a price. Years ago we were owner operators in the trucking industry. We were doing really well. But then the heart attack. That's how D'zz Spot got started. Fast forward to today. We got the chance for Mrs D to get back into being an owner operator. Learning new solo lanes that pay good takes time. She's getting there. But some of our bills for the Reptarium have taken a hit. The main one is our building payment. We need your help. We know it’s hard for everyone everywhere especially this time of year. But we believe in hope and miracles. We see stories all the time about people raising thousands of dollars for people in need. We're also realistic. We’re only asking for enough to save our building. If you can help even just a little bit that would be a blessing. If not we totally understand. Please share this with your friends and family. Our miracle may be out there somewhere. We have faith the like a mustard seed.
"Matthew 17:20
If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible...."

The ball python (Python regius), as it is often called in the United States, or the royal python as it is known in the United Kingdom and much of Europe, has easily become one of the most popular pet snake species. These humble little pythons are native to sub-Saharan Africa, preferring grassland savannah type habitats.

Like all pythons, they are nonvenomous constrictors. Among the very smallest of Africa's python species, ball pythons typically grow to lengths of around 3.5 to 4.5 feet, with exceptionally large individuals occasionally exceeding 5 feet. While these are measurements that may give people unfamiliar with snakes some pause, even the largest ball pythons will stay under about 5 lbs in weight. They are politely sized pythons, with a generally docile demeanor. They can be shy, but reasonably simple to provide for well.

Most commonly found in the wild in shades of dark brown patterned with lighter brown, ball pythons do have a considerable amount of natural variation in color and pattern. Under human care, many of these simply inherited variations (morphs) in color and pattern have been intentionally bred for, and combined to create nearly unlimited designer, or combo morphs, adding to their already significant appeal as pets.

Thank you to all Veterans for your service and sacrifice.

"11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month 1918, the guns ...
The phrase "the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" refers to the exact moment that fighting in World War I ended. An armistice, a formal agreement to cease hostilities, went into effect on November 11, 1918, at 11 a.m.. This date is now recognized as Veterans Day in the United States and is known as Remembrance Day or Armistice Day in many other countries."

"The end of WWI: The armistice signed between the Allied nations and Germany on November 11, 1918, marked the end of active combat in World War I. The timing was specifically chosen to be the 11th hour.

Armistice Day: In commemoration of this event, November 11 was first observed as Armistice Day. It was intended to be a day of remembrance for the sacrifices of the war and a symbol for peace.

Veterans Day: After World War II and the Korean War, the U.S. changed the holiday's name to Veterans Day to honor all veterans of all wars, not just WWI.

Official spelling: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs specifies the official spelling is "Veterans Day," without an apostrophe, because it is a day to honor all veterans, not a day that "belongs" to them."

We follow all sorts of pages. Why would a Reptile Rescue follow farm pages? Because we’re not just going to be a Reptile Rescue. We'll have a wildflower conservation area with a Koi pond, a Greenhouse with an aquaponics area to also raise fish to feed our meat eaters. Chickens for eggs, rabbits for meat. And the Tortoise pasture. Did you know that Sulcata Tortoises eat grass like cows? So why not have a pasture for them. It's a great way to teach young rural children.
There will also be an event space for parties, group gatherings, painting parties, Father/Daughter Tea, Mother/Son Tea and more.
It will be a place to visit year round with seasonal changes to learn about.

Pollinators and other wildlife need the ground clutter.

Fall is here and leaves are falling. Our box turtles want to remind you to step away from the leaf blower and leave the leaves! 🍂🍁🍃

Leaving leaves, brush piles, dried stems and soil alone throughout winter provides homes, nests and resources for invertebrates and pollinators.

From our friends at Xerces Society:
“Leaving the leaves and other plant debris doesn’t have to mean sacrificing your yard to the wilderness. You can do fall cleanup in moderation and still care for invertebrates. The leaves don’t need to be left exactly where they fall. You can rake them into garden beds, around tree bases, or into other designated areas. Too many leaves can kill grass, but in soil they can suppress weeds, retain moisture, and boost nutrition. In other words, leaves are a pesticide-free way to avoid weeds and a cost-free fertilizer for your garden. Why waste them?
During limited fall cleanup, avoid shredding leaves with a mower. Raking or blowing are alternatives that will keep leaves whole for the best cover and protect the insects and eggs already living there.
If you decide you need to clean up the leaves and debris more completely in the spring, make sure you wait until late in the season so as not to destroy all the life you’ve worked to protect. Or, you can just leave it!”

Sometimes when things get harder that's when people start praying. I try to do it more than just when I want something. But here lately it's been rough. Funds are running low.
Our health is good, the animals have what they need, we have a home and I have a job. We have a lot to be Thankful for. We're still working towards getting funding for the building so we can get it open next year and the animals can live their best lives. But times are hard and money for charities is scarce.

You can help us by sponsoring a Memorial Brick in memory of a loved one. (Veteran, Friends and family or a Pet) You can order a Tshirt, donate an old vehicle or donate directly. Oh and while you're doing your shopping you can round up on Walmart.com to D'zz Spot Reptarium and Educational Center.

Prayers and good thoughts are always welcome.
