About the Burlington Area Dog Park

Mailing Address: PO Box 504 Burlington, WI 53105

Location: 480 S. Calumet St. Burlington, WI 53105

The Burlington Area Dog Park is a partnership between the City of Burlington and the Burlington Area Dog Park Committee, Inc. (BADPC). The City has provided the land for the park, parking, lighting, mowing, and snow removal. The BADPC provides bags for canine san

itation, the fencing, capital improvements, and any other maintenance other than mowing. The BADPC is a non-profit corporation which relies on public donations. Committee members are all unpaid volunteers interested in keeping the park a great place for dogs and their people. We need volunteers to help with clean-up days (the last Saturday of every month at noon) and any scheduled fundraising events! Please contact Karlie Thate at [email protected] for any further information. Note: The Committee is not responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with ordinances and laws concerning dogs and their owners, nor does the committee investigate incidents. Please report any incidents to the Burlington Police Department - 262-342-1100; please maintain and use common sense while using the park.

Just a reminder to all pet owners to make sure your "fur children" are up to date on all their shots and vaccines.

I feel a responsibility as being a part of the committee of the Burlington Area Dog Park to keep our dog park patrons advise on news. If some of you are not aware of the Mystery Dog Illness, I have been following the story closely regarding this Illness that has been making a slow trek around the United States.

Since this article was published the University of New Hampshire has finally identified the pathogen responsible for the mystery illness. This gives hope with finding a preventive and treatable drug. Will Wisconsin does not have a "confirmed" case (since there is no test to verify and is up to a vet to confirm). I am aware of a pending case in Southeastern Wisconsin. With that said if you notice your dog with any signs of respiratory issues please contact your vet.

Please continue your play dates with your pups as they do need their exercise and socialization.
