Everyone says your kennel starts with a foundation bitch. Well, before there was Mia, there was Cam.
As many of you know, I grew up with Britts. We didn’t show, trial or test them. We just loved and occasionally hunted with them.
The first thing I did when I graduated college was to find a Brittany of my own. I didn’t know anything about back yard breeders and thought all “registered” dogs were the same. Bruer was a great dog but his health wasn’t. After we lost him to congestive heart failure we pledged to do as much research as we possibly could. We found Beth Rosener of Shamrock Britts and were eagerly added to her waiting list - for a female “pet”
Yup, Jerry had decided he wanted a female this time… so, 3 litters later we would get first female pick. We drove to meet Beth and Mark E Morris where we sat in her yard surrounded by perfect Brittany babies. A male kept crawling in my lap. I would set him aside and pick up female after female only for him to push his way back to me, my side, or my back. It was clear - green collar boy had picked us - and you can’t argue with fate.
We couldn’t have asked for a better boy - he has been the epitome of biddable - he introduced us to this crazy world of showing, hunt tests and yes, even breeding.
GCH Soli Deo’s D’Artagnan the Brave MHA has been the foundation of Lakeview Brittanys and he has done his job well. He has produced better than himself and I thank God that he chose us!
Today will be one of the hardest as we make the difficult decision to let him go. Please keep us and Cam in your prayers as we say goodbye to this wonderful boy at 3:30. Thank you Cam for opening our eyes to this amazing world and for loving us unconditionally.
We will love you forever and always!
Sutton asked if we can call Grandpa Box to talk to Cam in heaven so, until we meet again my sweet boy, may God hold you in the palm of his hand and be sure to wait on our call 💙 🌈 we love you Camden.
