Happy Sunday! It’s been a minute since I shared a greenhouse update. I just got some heirloom chrysanthemum cuttings from @3porchfarm to replace the ones I lost over the winter, plus Scoop scabiosa and white Veronica starts from @fuirkhome. Everything arrived in great shape, and I’ve been potting them up until they’re ready to go outside. The rest of the greenhouse is coming along—five more flats of snaps and stock are hardening off and just waiting on a dry day to get planted out. Kids get their snow day, and all I’m asking for is a day above freezing. Not a tropical escape, just enough so I can stop hauling the hummingbird feeders in and out. Those tiny flying tyrants didn’t take the hint when I stopped feeding them last fall—they stuck around and made sure I knew it. I’ve got trays of stock and snaps ready to go, just waiting for the ground to thaw. They can handle the cold, but I need a break from these frozen temps to finally plant them. A little bit of color and a whole lot of hope for warmer days ahead sounds pretty good right about now. P.S. The kids and the groundhog are on the same team, cheering for six more weeks of winter. Summer has definitely arrived in my garden! 🌻 Last night, I harvested 4 buckets of blooms. Right now, the foxglove is stealing the show with its soft colors and painted spots—so pretty! I might have some lavender available this week, and I’m thinking of pairing it with bunny tail grass. How does that sound? Perfect for drying 😉 Most of these lovely flowers are headed to a special birthday party. It’s such a joy to see my blooms becoming part of someone’s special moments 🫶
