Meet the Neverland Four!

Tinkerbell, Tootles, Tick & Tock may be four tiny kittens, but they've already created their own little Neverland.

There's Tinkerbell, the sweet fairy princess who loves to snuggle and chat; Tootles, the former runt who grew into a spunky little purr machine; Tick, the professional cuddle bug who is always first in line for some love; and Tock, their big Bubba who loves adventure, wrestling, and giving his siblings a good old-fashioned tongue bath.

Together, they're a perfect mix of cuddles, purrs, zoomies, wrestling matches, kitten naps, and just a little bit of Neverland mischief.

Tick: The Professional Cuddler

If you're looking for a kitten who moonlights as a lovebug, allow us to introduce you to Tick.

Tick is the first one to seek out snuggles and without a doubt the biggest cuddler of the group. His favorite place in all of Neverland is cradled safely in your arms, where he'll happily melt into you and soak up every bit of affection you have to give.
But don't mistake his cuddly nature for a lack of adventure! Tick and Tock are bonded brothers who are always ready for their next Neverland adventure. And while Tock may have the bigger frame, Tick has absolutely no problem keeping up with his big brother. These two have serious boy energy and they're a perfect mix of cuddles, purrs, zoomies, wrestling matches, kitten naps, and just a little bit of Neverland mischief.

Tick and Tock would love to find a forever home together where they can continue their Neverland adventures side by side.

Tinkerbell, Tootles, Tick & Tock may be four tiny kittens, but they've already created their own little Neverland.

Tock: The Big Bubba of Neverland

Every Lost Boy crew needs a Bubba, and that's Tock.
Tock has always been a little bigger than his siblings, earning him the unofficial title of Big Bubba. But don't let his size fool you. This boy is a total sweetheart and “loses” a wrestling match every once in a while.

Tock is also quite the gentleman. When he's finished exploring, eating, and napping, you'll often find him giving his siblings a thorough tongue bath. Nothing says “I love you, brother” quite like a good sibling grooming session!

Tick and Tock are bonded brothers who are always ready for their next Neverland adventure. You can easily tell Tock and Tick apart: Tock is the bigger of the two and has distinctive little white streaks beneath his neck and along his belly.
His brother Tick may be slightly smaller, but these two have serious boy energy and they're a perfect mix of cuddles, purrs, zoomies, wrestling matches, kitten naps, and just a little bit of Neverland mischief.

2 years. That is how long Bertha has been waiting. She is not here because she is broken. She is not here because she is difficult. She is just here - still sweet, still wagging, still hoping to be picked by a loving human.

If you are thinking about adding a dog to your life, and if you think you could be that loving human for Bertha, we would love for you to meet. Bertha is not only affectionate and playful (she loves fetch!), but she is also great in the car, wonderful on walks, and enjoys the kiddie pool.

This special girl deserves a soft couch and a good human to cuddle.

She’s one of those dogs who lights up a room the second she walks in, she loves fetch, she is definitely the fetch master, she’ll chase a toy for as long as you want to play, and she always brings it back like she’s so proud of it, like she's won an Oscar!

Besides going on Happy Tail hikes, Bertha also takes strolls around town just her and her favorite volunteer soaking up the morning sun together, and finding a batch of grass that she loves rolling around in with the biggest smile on her face or going for coffee and pup cup. Bertha is truly a lady, chill, and affectionate. Volunteers adore her she’s a sweetheart and angel.

From Bertha's day hike foster: Bertha... she and I have formed a nice bond. The take-away with her is that trust is earned and it takes time and effort. Bertha is a sweet, chill, loving dog who would make a fantastic companion. We stopped off at the cafe and got coffee for me and a bowl of water for her. Then took a leisurely stroll to the Whitnall Highway North park and sat in the shade. She lounged in the cool grass and took a brief nap. This is the type of peaceful day her adopter could enjoy. Each day she's in the shelter is a day someone is missing out, big time.

Bertha would do best as the only animal in the household, no other animals is a must!

Hi, I'm Otis. I am a handsome orange tabby with a big personality with lots of love to give. I am a playful little guy who loves to climb my scratching post. I like being up high so I can keep an eye on everything. I also love playing fetch with my favorite toy. Yes, you read that right, I play fetch!

Everyone tells me how handsome I am, but I think my playful personality is my best feature. I'm looking for a loving family where I can have lots of attention, play time and cuddles. I would especially love a family with young kids so we can play together, grow-up together and make lots of happy memories.

My name is Michelle. I am a spayed female, tan and yellow Labrador Retriever. The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 2 months old.

Michelle will become available on Tuesday, September 1st. There will be a raffle held if more than one party is interested and of course willing and able to follow through with her medical issues that are explained below. If interested, you will need to present at 1200 sharp on that day. Please be prepared to fill out a short questionnaire and our Kennel Staff will be screening adopters to ensure that a good match is made and that Michelle will get the medical care that is required. Thank you

If interested, you must read below: Michelle will need continued medical care:

Michelle has a history of previous orthopedic injuries involving her?right elbow(front leg), right knee/stifle joint (rear leg) and left ankle/tarsus(rear leg) joints. X-rays showed old, healed fractures of the lower right humerus (elbow area) and lower right femur (knee area) that healed in an abnormal position (malunion).

She currently has some stiffness and reduced range of motion in the right elbow and right knee, as well as a persistent limp that is more noticeable in the right rear leg. There is some stiffness and swelling in the left ankle joint, as well.

An orthopedic specialist was consulted and offered two approaches for the right hind leg:surgical correction of the healed femur fracture or conservative management. The orthopedic specialist’s expectations for surgery on the right rear leg are that it will improve range of motion in her knee joint but it is likely to require significant physical therapy to undo the damage the chronic injury caused. There is scarring in the thigh muscle that is further limiting her range of motion. So, even if the angle of her leg is corrected, physical therapy will be required to improve range of motion in the leg. The specialist gave an estimate of about $10,000 for surgery. Recovery is expected to take about 2-3 months until the bone is fully healed but full recovery may take several additional months of physical therapy. She is very likely to develop arthritis in this joint, regardless if surgery is pursued and will require ongoing management for that.

The right elbow is currently recommended to be managed conservatively rather than with surgery. Surgery is unlikely to improve long term prognosis for the right elbow and will need to be managed for arthritis that is developing in the joint.

What this means for an adopter:Michelle is expected to have some ongoing orthopedic limitations and may not have completely normal movement. Her care will likely involve monitoring her comfort and mobility, maintaining a healthy body weight, and using pain/anti-inflammatory medication as recommended by her veterinarian. This means she will require an ongoing relationship with a veterinarian on a regular basis.

Currently Michelle is being managed with the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication, carprofen, twice daily. She is mobile but there is an obvious abnormality to her gait. She is unlikely to be a dog that is capable of significant athletic activities, such as long hikes or agility training. Orthopedic surgery of this nature is outside the scope of what Burbank Animal Shelter can provide and will need to be pursued by Michelle’s adopter, if elected.

Minnow is a gorgeous long-haired dark grey tabby with big, tufted ears that give him a distinctive Maine C**n look. He’s relaxed, extremely social, and loves being around people.

He’s very docile and affectionate and is always happy to lounge around with you and get pets. He also loves to play and socialize. Minnow is the kind of cat who just wants to be part of whatever everyone else is doing.

"Sheldon takes a little time to warm up. He’s a bit shy with new people at first, and it’s clear life hasn’t always been easy for him. But give him a few minutes and he melts. He quickly attaches to his person and will follow you from room to room just to be near you. He’s a total sucker for head and belly scratches.

He’s a lower-energy boy who’s happy with a relaxed 15-20 minute stroll before bedtime rather than a marathon walk, which makes him a great fit for anyone who wants a calm companion rather than a workout partner. He’s still learning about crates, but he settled in and slept through the night, and adjusted even faster the second time.

Sheldon is looking for a patient person who can give him the safe, quiet space to fully unwind and show his sweet side. If you want a dog who’ll bond hard and just wants to be near you, he’s your guy.”

Sheldon came in with another dog originally, but they had to be separated due to some semi-serious spats. He was returned from foster because he and the foster’s dog didn’t get along so well. He is fine walking near dogs and being in their presence, yet he would do best as the only dog in a new household. He’ll make an amazing companion for a human who is just looking for that one dog to connect with. Please ask to meet him out of the cage and get ready to fall in love.

Tootles: The Tiny Lost Boy Who Found His Purr
Don't let his former “runt” fool you. Tootles has officially outgrown his “never ever ever grow up” Lost Boy status!

This spunky little guy is a purr machine extraordinaire. He may not have as much to say as some of his siblings, but he has absolutely no shortage of purrs. In fact, he seems to operate under the philosophy that there is no appropriate time not to purr.
Tootles loves wrestling with his sister Tinkerbell, and the two are bonded partners when exploring the Jolly Roger. But when the wrestling match is over, Tootles knows exactly what time it is: NAP TIME.

He was the smallest of the litter, but don’t lose your marbles over it! You certainly wouldn't know it now. Tootles was the first of his siblings to dive into wet food and kibble during weaning. Turns out this little Lost Boy has always had a BIG appetite and now outweighs two of his siblings.

Tootles is playful, affectionate, endlessly purry, and completely devoted to his sister, Tink. His dream? A forever home where he and his favorite fairy can grow up together.
