We have a very special client that is extremely brokenhearted and any community assistance is greatly appreciated.
This is Chewy. He has always been indoors, has never experienced the street life that many cats do, but decided to risk it all. He slipped out a broken bedroom window when the bedroom door was accidentally left ajar during the repair of the window. He has been missing since Friday afternoon. Last seen near Wilson and Church in Bullhead City (just a couple blocks from the 5-way stop where little drive thru store is).
He does have health concerns and requires medication daily. The rising daytime temperature and other predators like coyotes is also a concern. Sphynx don’t typically do well outdoors and have very little protection from the elements and predators. He is very sweet and shy, doesn’t usually allow strangers to get near to pet him or pick him up but if he isn’t feeling good or he’s scared he may allow contact.

Man had an unfortunate accident while playing that resulted in a multiple fractures to his rear leg. Sadly, the best thing for him was to have an urgent amputation of the broken leg. Words cannot express how happy our entire team is that Mr. Man is doing so well!

We know amputation can seem extreme and even unfair however, amputation in cats is a common, life-saving, or pain-relieving procedure for severe trauma, cancer, or non-repairable limb injuries. Cats, known as "tripods" afterward, usually adapt remarkably well, often walking within 12-24 hours. Recovery typically takes 2–3 weeks, involving pain management, restricted activity, and environmental changes to ensure long-term mobility. Most cats thrive after adapting to their new balance, often returning to their playful, active lifestyles.
