30 years together wasn't enough. I still remember everyone saying starting him using a dressage saddle was crazy but it worked best for him. I can't believe he's been gone a year. Happy foaling day in The Green Place, G.

Taken from the 90 minute long lesson four on Transitions. Comments from participants of lesson 4 on transitions were

"The best lesson yet!"
"Really great explanation of the half halt"
"Excellent lesson. So interesting to hear well thought out explanations for why we don't get good transitions etc. Brilliant to be encouraged to think and focus on what we are doing at all times."
"Just watched the replay for Lesson 4... thank you... awesome...hope to go out and practice later today. Thanks, to, to Milly & Tinker. They are great "models". I really am appreciating all your help, Peter. This course is wonderful."

Master Your Riding 10 Lesson Course Closing Down

https://course.masterdressagelessons.com/master-your-riding?time=48

Our course is closing down on Sunday to new members as we are now on lesson 4 which will be on Sunday and is about transitions. We are closing down so people don't get too far behind on homework and our support staff can deal with the numbers. If you wan't to Learn more just click on the link above and join us. The course is based upon the material in 'Master Dressage - The Basics' and Ride With Your Mind Essentials.

Once you join you can access lessons 1,2 and 3 and also join us on Sunday live. You'll get access to a special Facebook group where you can submit homework and get critique and help from myself and others. The group is a great safe place to learn, and people are already making big changes to themselves and their horses for the better.

Problems with turning, falling in, falling out and asymmetry?

https://course.masterdressagelessons.com/master-your-riding

Peter Dove and I are running a ten lesson course based on 'The Basics' which I co-authored and edited with Peter. Lesson 5 is going to be about turns and circles. The image here shows what I call 'skewers' - imagine you had 3 skewers running through your body at the levels shown on the image. If you are turning on a circle correctly all 3 skewers should remain at a tangent to the circle and all lined up on top of each other.

Now imagine a rider collapsing and twisting to the inside... one could imagine, that to some extent, all skewers would be pointing to the inside of the circle. Maybe the top skewer would be really pointing inwards as the person twists their shoulders to the inside.

I often think of the rider's body from the seat bones up as a Rubik's cube with the three layers - it is always interesting to see which way the different layers are twisting....

Peter is running some of the earlier lessons in the course and I will be running some of the more advanced sessions on sitting trot, canter etc. If you join before the weekend you will see the rerun of lesson 1 live on alignment and position, and lesson 3 on rising trot mechanism.
