โPets are family.โ
Ever since I could remember, Iโve been surrounded by animals. From rabbits and fish, to cats and dogs. I knew even when I was little girl that animals were family members too and they were our responsibility. From when they are sick and tired, to when they are in your face, showering you in kisses. They might not be there for our whole lives, but they make our lives whole. I felt love and pride in each of my animals that I took care of, spent their whole life with, nursed back to health, set free back to a wild life, or when I was out of my depth and knew that someone more capable than myself could better care of them. Everyone and everything deserves a healthy and clean life. Thatโs the founding principle of what we do at Barker Street. This place isnโt just about making ends meet, this is my lifeโs goal and legacy. To shower the pets of Bryan College Station with as much love and become their family members. These animals donโt understand that their nails are too long, or their matts are too tight. They donโt comprehend that bath time isnโt just scary and loud. All they know is that I am there, and they trust me. They have to believe in me and thatโs a trait that I believe sets me apart from others. Itโs not about the money or the prestige, because its hard to feel prestigious covered in dog hair, soaked through your shirt. Itโs about knowing that when you groom a dog or cat, that Iโve helped give them a healthy, cleaner lease on life than when they walked into my shop. That they are now free to run into mud and get dirty again, knowing they will be back to get taken care of, and building that life long relationship with your fuzzy family member.
